Our first visit and we will be returning often. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. The small diner atmosphere is relaxing and inviting. The food arrived quickly, was hot and looked well put together. I highly recommend Fitzy’s to anyone who wants a delicious meal and delightful diner atmosphere!!!

Fitzy’s has the best chicken fried steak in Columbus. That may not say much for a town north of the Mason-Dixon, but this Texan loved it

The staff is efficient and friendly. The prices are great.

The biscuit was dense, buttery, and deceptively small. I had one and it almost did me in. Delicious

The onion rings are literally the best I have had in my life.

Wow.

This place was great. The food portions are good and the food is amazing. I was too full to try out the cakes on display but I will be back to try them out.

Fitzys Old Fashioned Diner is a lively, welcoming spot for breakfast that really gets cooking on Sunday mornings. The strip mall setting doesn’t dampen the fun, energetic vibe—families, regulars, and all ages fill the booths and barstools, with retro 80s and 90s posters throwing back some nostalgia. The crowd is diverse; everyone just finds a seat, grabs a good-sized coffee, and settles into the bustle.

Service is friendly and quick, making sure guests know when something fresh is about to hit the table—like the biscuits that were announced six minutes before they came out of the oven. The kitchen’s “hustle” really stands out: the Biscuits and Gravy were excellent, and the Breakfast Burrito (with bacon and jalapeños added) was hearty, though a touch heavy on potatoes and best with some salsa, salt, and pepper. Portions are large and satisfying. By the end of breakfast, bar stools were packed and folks were standing at the door, waiting for seats.

There’s an unmistakable Gen X attitude—staff are real and straightforward, and although they claim not to care about opinions, they actually respond and engage with feedback, which shows genuine pride in what they do. Ultimately, Fitzys Old Fashioned Diner nails what a diner breakfast should be: delicious food in generous portions, a fun crowd, and hospitality that keeps folks coming back.

Stumbled upon this place by happenstance, and what a treat! They’re tucked away in a non-obvious location, so you’ll have to look for them with intention. Old fashioned diner with friedly staff, and excellent food. Nostalgic atmosphere that warmed my heart and triggered good memories. REAL homefries and generous portions for a fair price. I look forward to returning.

Stopped in here after a hike to cancel out that calories we burned. Had a pretty standard breakfast of eggs, meat, potatoes and added on blueberry pancakes.
Pancakes were phenomenal. Maybe the best I’ve had in Columbus. I love a good breakfast potato that’s not loaded with oil/salt.
My daughter had the Philly and steak chili. A perfect Texas red chili with steak, another chef’s kiss.
Also tried the chicken fried steak with my husband and we both recommend it as well.
Food was really good and freshly made, was a weird hour so they weren’t busy, service was excellent.
Can’t wait to come back and try more.

First time trying Fitzy’s. I’m picky when it comes to sausage gravy. This was definitely good. My wife had the Western Omelet and stated it was good. We brought home a piece of Carrot cake. Needless to say, it’s gone. We’ll be back.

To start off I want to emphasize that I live in Cincinnati so it’s already a 1 hr 45 min drive out to Fitzy’s in Columbus. I called twice to verify hours because online and google it says that they are open. once I got out here though I quickly learned that they were closed due to water problems. I understand that life happens but you still have to find ways to let your customers know that hey we aren’t open today.
