I’ll admit, I’m not usually a fan of the northside, but personal preferences aside, the food here was outstanding. I ordered the lobster & scallops fettuccine and was blown away by the portions—loaded with seafood, no skimping whatsoever. Prices looked a little steep at first, but after that meal, I can honestly say it was worth every penny. You can taste the talent in the kitchen.
Service was a touch slow (I would’ve grabbed another drink if asked sooner), but to be fair, the place was absolutely packed—and on a Wednesday night no less. Clearly, they’re doing something right.
If you’re in Fredericton and craving top-notch seafood, this is my #1 recommendation. Fresh, generous, and worth every dollar.
Water and fresh bread were brought out as I arrived, which was a nice touch. The atmosphere is cozy but well laid out, with beautiful artwork, a bright and clean interior, and even a lovely patio space outside.
The food was full of flavor, served in generous portions, and priced very reasonably. This restaurant truly exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended! I’d suggest making a reservation if you’re planning to go—it’s clearly a popular spot for good reason.
UPDATE: I enjoyed it so much the first time and decided to come back for a second visit. The second time was even better! This is a MUST try restaurant when visiting the area.
Once we got our apps, I though things might start to turn around, but I was dead wrong. We ended up having to wait 1 and a half hours on the windy patio, and once again didn’t see any staff whatsoever for the whole wait, which we felt was unreasonable.
Finally, the food was only decent, with most items being over seasoned or somewhat bland. Overall, I would not recommend coming here, unless you have a lot time to burn on your hands. Infact, this experience derailed me and my family’s night visiting the area, and we will not be coming back next time we are in Fredericton.
The Wharf is touted as one of the best places in Freddy to check out and it’s true
I ordered a small ceasar as an app. Not bad, lots of bacon, but too much cheese for me. Then i ordered the lobster stuffed haddock. They hand roll this bad boy. Unfortunately, it came warm. I believe it would have enhanced the taste if it was hot. It looks great.
I guess they saw my disappointment because they offered free carrot cake.
I ordered the Wolastoq Amber beer. Lots of favor.
Then they came with the bill. They removed the main and didn’t add the carot cake. A little overkill could have done one or the other.
It seems to be a popular place, not full but very close. So this level of activity may be stressing staff. Management may want to do an efficiency study as the overall product is excellent.
It would be interesting to come back to find out if this was just a one-off.
The food was hot, fresh and simply outstanding! The flavour, quantity and presentation was spot on.
The menu is extensive and would be appropriate for all tastes. We would need to visit at least a dozen times to try all the dishes that appealed to us.
We absolutely loved our meals and will return when back in the area.
One tip, make reservations because otherwise you may be disappointed. Several groups came in when we were dining and none could be accommodated. That speaks volumes in my opinion.
