Walked in to restaurant at about 1230 on a Monday afternoon. Gonna have a quick bite for lunch. I had a Dr appt at 130 so thought I’d make it. My hubby and I got seated right away. They weren’t very busy. The bartender was our waitress. Got our drinks and we were deciding on our food. It took about 8 mins. for our waitress to come back to take our order. I ordered a chicken sandwich and my husband ordered a burger. As we sat there and waited, an elderly couple was seated behind us. After about 15 minutes, the elderly couple got their food and we still hadn’t received ours. It was going on 110 pm. I approached the bar with cash for our drinks and told our waitress that we had to go and that other couple got their food before us. She didn’t respond with any apologies or excuses. She and another gal were laughing as we walked out the door. We will not be returning.

The Boulder tap is one of the restaurants we go to if we are in Mason City. It is clean. The atmosphere is of a sports bar, simple and pleasant, with many TVs to watch and good music playing. The beer menu has a big variety. The cocktails don’t disappoint either. Just look at that loaded bloody mary! It is definitely a meal in its own. We always get bolder tap potatoes for appetizers… It’s a must! My kid loved the fruity pebbles smoothie. The only negative is that somedays it can be a bit busy with some wait, but nothing that we couldn’t hadnle. The staff is pleasant and accommodating. Enjoy!

Stopped for dinner on our way across the state.
Chose burgers our server recommended. The brown sugar burger is sweet. The garlic burger was opposite. We preferred the garlic burger but everything was served quickly. Perfectly cooked burgers. Tasted very fresh.

Went here on a front desk hotel recommendation. It was bad. My wife ordered a glass of white wine, I got a glass of red. The red was bad, probably been open for a couple of days. I asked if they could open a new bottle. Nope. Can’t do that. I asked if I could buy a fresh bottle. Nope. Can’t do that. Fine, I ordered the white wine my wife had. We started with the cheese curds. Nothing special. I got the “smash burger” and my wife got the avocado chicken. I guess they don’t know what a smash burger is here because it wasn’t smashed at all. I was like a hockey puck in thickness and covered in the Alabama sauce to the point that picking it up would have required that I use a drop cloth to not make an epic mess. So I grabbed my fork and tried to cut one of the patties with the edge of the fork, which I was just able to do because it was very tough. Flavor was OK. Service was very good. The waitress was helpful and friendly. Bar area had the atmosphere of a prison cell. Won’t be back.

Meaty wings. Plenty of room to enjoy a dinner without being on top of anyone else. The food is good and definitely recommend the Cuban. Wings are meaty. Cheese cubes are large and gooey. All kinds of tv’s for all the viewings and taps on taps of beer options; Local and otherwise. Really Friendly service too!

We stopped for lunch and we were seated immediately. We ordered drinks and waited 10 minutes or so to receive them and then the waitress took our order. We waited 40 minutes for an appetizer that we didn’t receive. The waitress never even bothered to ask if we needed our drinks refreshed. When she came back she told us she forgot to put our order in. Then she told us she lost it and had no idea what it was and asked us if we were still going to eat. We said no and then she billed us for the drinks grabbed the money and left and never brought back our change. We asked for the manager and she was rude, inconsiderate, and did nothing. Needless to say we won’t be back. The staff and service was absolutely awful.

It was fine. Sort of run of the mill sports bar and menu. I did really enjoy the music videos playing on some TVs.
We ordered a ton of appetizers as they were 1/2 price during happy hour. The avocado fries were my favorites. I had a bowl of chili that was divine.
Service was OK. Our server kept trying to bring our bill before we were ready so felt rushed. We wanted to just hang out and have a nice relaxed dining experience.
Clean space, plenty of seating with a variety of high & low top tables. Bar seating as well. Several beers, a couple of drinks, appetizers, soup & salad only $60.

Visit here often. Great staff, great food, great beer! Update from May 2024: still great. Usually eat at the bar. Quick, friendly service!! Korean barbeque boneless wings were a little spicy for me but really good. I love the corn ribs and the cauliflower wings!!
