Found this place on Google and decided to give it a try. Not the best experience, we just spent the summer in Jordan, and to be honest, I would give a street vendor in Amman 5 stars while this place 1 star. This place only authentic thing is the decor, other than that, Turkish music, the Kufta was more Indian spiced, shawarma is not shawarma, it’s just grilled chicken, the mezza platter another disappointment, the hummus is just grounded chickpeas, no tahini, lemon or oil olive were added. There were zero Arabs/ middle eastern people at the place and that should’ve be our sign that this place really doesn’t serve authentic food. I hope they improve their service and food to be more authentic and reflect the real deal of Mediterranean food.

This is hands down my favorite Mediterranean restaurant. I’ve ordered a couple different things off the menu and have never been disappointed. The appetizer platter is incredible, the lentil soup is so flavorful, and the house tea was so good that I bought a container of it from their shop and can now drink it at home! The first time I went the waiter was so helpful in explaining many of the dishes and their ingredients.

This is one of my must-go places when I come visit family in Virginia Beach. The food is consistently delicious. It’s well-seasoned and cooked beautifully, and I can tell that the ingredients are fresh.

The vibe here is also great – service is prompt, attentive, and friendly. I also love the section out front where you can pick up cheese, spreads, snacks, treats, and so on. Highly recommend!

While l was waiting for my order, l found out that they had homemade stuffed grape leaves and ordered a container of five. When l got home, l noticed that they were
warm; that was the first time l had warm stuffed grape leaves. They were delicious. My seafood wrap was a also very good. I asked for no hot peppers and no jalapeños.
The side of tabbouleh was refreshing!
It was a very nice lunch!

Had a good meal here on Valentine’s Day. Hummus, pita, halloumi were all flavorful. The lam shawarma was delicious- I liked that it was over lettuce and the tahini made it all come together. We also had the meatballs, which had different spices than we were expecting but it was still delicious. It was all tasty and healthy. As it was Valentine’s Day, they were busy and the servers were doing their best on a busy night. Our server was very sweet. I would definitely come back if we lived in the area.

Coming from out of state for an event and came across this Mediterranean restaurant. The first night my fiancé and I ate there the food was indeed good. The spicy tahini tofu dish was delicious. It had an abundance of flavors, maybe a bit too much. It was rich. I also had the lentil soup which was great.

We came back two days later…
Again, the appetizers were delicious. We ordered two dips. But then our entrees came. My fiancés lamb wrap was tough, fatty, inedible, except the lettuce. I ordered the same tofu dish, but unfortunately it was totally different.

The tofu in my dish was tough, chewy and tastes foul. I mentioned this to our server, who later brought out another piece of tofu. By the texture alone, I could tell it looked as though it had been frozen. When I politely mentioned that, he insisted it wasn’t. At that point, I kindly asked for the check, as I didn’t finish my meal — it lacked the main protein and overall flavor.

When we received the bill, I was disappointed to see we were still charged $20 for a dish that was barely eaten and clearly not prepared properly.

The food was fun. I enjoyed the appetizers I had and the fish dish I had was cooked to perfection. I also had the house tea and it was so tasty, herbaceous and with a perfect little side of honey.

The staff was entertaining. My waiter was fantastic and I got to hear all kinds of little conversations since I was the only one there for over 30 minutes.

I am actually excited to go back and try different items soon.

NOTE: I had dinner by myself, early. I requested a cute booth seat and was declined because they are saved for reservations, but I was in and out in less than an hour and only one two top came in, so I would suggest the staff be a little more flexible there.

We intended to visit another local Mediterranean restaurant during a business trip to VA Beach, but the Greek owner of Pocahontas Pancakes highly recommended we try Baladi instead, and they did not steer us wrong! The food was extremely fresh and authentic. Everything was so delicious and had such beautiful presentation. We enjoyed the lentil soup, the beef kabobs, and the chicken shawarma, and ended with the baklava. The blend of flavors was certainly memorable, and I will most certainly stop by again when I’m in the area again. Our server was also extremely friendly and helpful, and have us great recommendations.

Baladi has a great atmosphere with nice decor and seating. We loved the Mediterranean sampler platter, especially the muhammara, which had a unique sweet flavor served on lettuce leaves. The spicy hummus was also excellent.
We also ordered the kids pizza which was on pita bread, and it came with fries.
