At our Southaven, MS location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Very friendly service. Please bring back the fish n fries the way it use to be. Fish was swai and batter was different and not as good as back in the day. Food was hot and okay, but really like what it use to be. Not a fan of this change.

I would give 0 stars if I could!! PLEASE DO NOT eat here! This location is serving spoiled and expired food! They gave my mom a batch of shrimp skewers that had gone bad and soured. She could’ve got food poisoning. This place needs to be shut down ASAP!!

I stopped going to Capt Ds in Memphis several years ago, out of 3 of the stores there they all sucked, greasy as all get out, stank, employees didn’t want to be there. Now I’m working in South haven and thought I would give it a shot, WOW the Southhaven store would be worth an hours drive. I bet I have been 7 or 8 times in the last 2 month’s and it’s been awesome every single time. HIGH FIVE to the South Haven Captn Ds. Y’all got it together.

Everything was cold. The fries were hard, and the fish/breading has completely changed. It’s not what it used to be even from just a few months ago. I would not recommend.

I was extremely busy at work but that didn’t stop me from thinking; my stomach was screaming for Captain D’s since the place was eight minutes away from my job.
The food that I received today was hot and ready but at the same time I had to finish the plate before the end of my lunch break. I enjoyed my Fish and Chips and of course the hush puppies despite the wind being aggressive with paper plate with the sunlight burning my neck. I wanted to get another plate but maybe I’ll get one some other day.

I thought since it had been so long surely Captain D’s would be better this time, but look at this pitiful excuse for a two-piece fish meal. The fish used to be TWICE this size. Besides that it is overcooked And tastes nasty. Do not recommend this pace AT ALL.

Place was sort of dirty when we walked in the cre in the back was pretty loud and the place had a very “ghetto” vibe to it. We ordered and none of the emtrees came with drinks. It was incredibly overpriced. Once we sat down we heard a comment about our race ” for the white people” they said. Food was alright but way over priced we wont be eating there again.

I just ate the Best best meal from Captain D’s Restaurant. They have changed their menu and Oh My!! The Sampler Plater with two pieces of tender fish, two pieces of crispy chicken, and five butterfly shrimp. Complete with hush puppies, corn on the cob, and perfectly cooked broccoli. To top it off I had fried Green Tomatoes in corn meal batter. Finally, an ice cold Southern Sweet Tea. Karen the General Manager is at the helm and runs a great operation on Stateline Road. My finest complements.
