The food is really good especially the sushi my favorite is the caterpillar roll and my partner loves the eel and mango roll. The place is decorated very cute with lanterns and posters. The staff is mega nice especially Michael he talks to everyone and is funny. Don’t be afraid to try the special rolls or take a break from fast food with this local restaurant.

This place is phenomenal! The food is amazing, the owner introduced himself and mad suggestions. It’s a fusion restaurant that serves Japanese food and Cajun cooking. The baked mussels and takayaki are the best I ever had. Service is quick and portions are very generous.

The volcano sushi roll is my favorite roll of all time, but everything I have tried from here is good. I really like how unique this place is and the variety of meals you can have. This place can get busy, but the servers are always energetic and pleasant. The decor in there is fun too, it adds to the atmosphere. I recommend at least trying Concept 23, it’s definitely worth it.

The owners have a long history in both New Orleans and Lawrence.
They have a quite an extensive menu that includes many sushi options (cooked or raw), sushi pizza (sushi components on top of a fried rice cake) and a few Cajun dishes like Cajun fries, hushpuppies, fried chicken and seafood – plus so much more.
We opted for starting with Gyoza, hushpuppies, and garden salad with house (sesame/ginger) dressing. Very tasty.
I had the Golden Crunchy Roll (Snow crab and avocado topped with spicy mayo, eel sauce, and tempura flakes).
& my daughter had the pork Katsu (very generous portion of crispy fried pork with Katsu bbq sauce).
The service was very friendly as well. Great little place with good vibes.

We got the Build-your-own seafood combo, and it was so delicious! I got shrimp and snow crab, my boyfriend got mussels and lobster tail, and it was so fresh and tasty (I’ve never had seafood that fresh in Kansas). Really flavorful sauce, and great portion for its price! Michael was so personable and attentive, and the restaurant space is super clean and cute! Highly, highly recommend.

The place is really cute and it has a chill and relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious and not that expensive so it’s a good place to got to if you’re it trying to break the bank. I highly recommend the steamed gyoza they’re amazing! Also, the service was great! The waiter was very sweet and attentive and really made the experience so much better!

Love this place! They have some of the best sushi I’ve ever eaten. It’s decently priced and they have a huge variety of rolls as well as appetizers and other items. The avocado bun is out of this world, as well as the Jayhawk roll. It’s my go to place when I’m craving sushi. The restaurant is always clean and the service is always excellent. So if you’re in Lawrence and have the opportunity to dine here I highly suggest it. You won’t be disappointed I promise! Went back again and tried a couple rolls I hadn’t had before, they were just as stellar as the others I had tried.

We went for the seafood boil that they offer here and it was really good. We got the flaming hot spice level with Cajun seasoning and it was delicious also got an extra side of hot seasoning to make it super hot and recommend getting the mussels they were gasss. We’ll be back for sure great service, great atmosphere, and delicious food ↕️ ↕️ ↕️
