Our first visit sitting on the patio was definitely a much nicer experience.
This was the second visit.
Roommate was a harsher judge than me. lol
(Mostly because another table the older lady kept loudly exclaiming how she “used” to have lots of gentleman callers and was awkwardly, encouraging her table mate to drink more so they could leave…lolol)
Pesos, were good but I was expecting more spice and not a fan of ranch.
I enjoyed my pork belly taco and Mexican pizza with cilantro.
Margaritas were the real win. They were excellent.
Overall experience is fine. Im sure we’ll be back maybe for a patio experience again.

We had a great experience at VIP Mexican American Cuisine. The food was phenomenal—full of flavor. The staff was outstanding: friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. We really appreciated the variety of options on the menu, including great choices for kids, which made it a perfect spot for families. Everything we tried was delicious, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

To be 100% fair we had our meal inside which is loud, not comfortable and very stark. I honestly think if we had eaten outdoors we would have enjoyed the atmosphere much, much more.
Our table was so unstable I wound up wearing half a beer right off the bat.
The food is OK, it’s not the best Mexican food you’ve ever had but not the worst, it is inexpensive so if that’s what you’re after this is a good pick.
I enjoy the TI location much more for the vibe etc and the food is better…… tell me why.

It’s like all places it’s either a hit or miss and thou The food was okay the waiting was super long. The food service was good and they were focused. The authentic flavors were missing on my dishes and out of everything we order I loved the street corn. Now the worst out of my visit there was the parking situation, super crowded and frustrating. I would’ve left if it wasn’t for meeting friends that were there already. Oh! And there is no reservations allowed to be made. We waited like 20 minutes to have a table mind you it was for a large group. As for us we won’t returned until I hear improvements have been made. Be aware and still enjoy it!

I retired here from Arizona and year ago. FINALLY FOUND Mexican food that is authentic. I had the chili rellanos and it was absolutely outstanding. All of the food for our table was incredible. I did not care for the rice but who cares……order more beans. This place is so popular with limited space inside. Be prepared for a mild wait. Extremely nice staff from bar tenders to wait staff……I made sure to tip well enough to get the tip bell rung. Wow…..I am again hungry to go back while writing this.

10/06/2025; Stopped in for lunch today and Christine took great care of us, we had a chicken wet burrito and a VIP burrito bowl both which were fantastic. I love this food and atmosphere. Right on the beach in Indian Rocks Beach. Worth going for outdoor atmosphere and excellent food and service. Previous review from August 2025; We stopped in today for lunch, for the first time and Sidney, took great care of us. We have driven past here many times but finally stopped in. I had the Enchilada platter with shredded beef, rice and beans. The shredded beef was excellent, hard to find good shredded beef and not hamburger. Will definitely be back for more. My wife enjoyed the Wet Chicken burrito and said it was delicious, full of flavor. Both come with the option of beef, chicken or shredded beef. They have an outside bar that was happening, margaritas n more, sometimes live music plays outside and inside with another full bar.

wow! I really did feel like a VIP here! I am still currently here and Owen is our waiter. He efficiently brought us over waters and took our order. Within MINUTES my steaming hot fajitas came rushing out to me, and let me tell you this dish had everyone’s head turning! I felt like a star Anyways back to owen, chill dude, ever chiller shirt can’t wait to leave a large tip go noles #iykyk only complaint, the water cups could be supersized, a little too small for my liking #safetheturtles

I don’t normally eat at Mexican restaurants when I travel because my hometown has great ones that are hard to top. This place beat them all!!! The food was fantastic and so was the service! The Street Corn is a must! Also enjoyed the dog friendly outdoor area. We will definitely eat here again the next time we are at IRB!

ur staff are amazing! we walked in and turned right around to walk out when it looked busy, and a man came running outside to let us know to see the host and see what to do about a table! he personally took us to the host stand and the hosts were so sweet and made sure to assure us they would get us in quickly! Service from our server was then fantastic and food was great i can’t believe we only came back because that man got us back in with his kindness! must be a good business if employees care this much to work hard!
