Are you in the Ellenville, NY area? Got some nibbles? Sammy Brown’s is the place to be. A quaint diner vibe with a rotating menu, you are spoiled for choice with fresh homemade options that are devine and value priced. Visiting in Autumn 2024, I had the Broccoli soup with meat loaf, mash and gravy, with a soda for $15. One word: sublime. Service was exceptional, genuine and attentive. I would recommend and visit again.

We used Sammy Browns as the caterer for our backyard wedding. Doreen was so wonderful to work with. Anytime I had an ask or request she was quick to respond and always said ‘it’s my special day, whatever you want we can make happen’. I gave her an idea of what I was looking to do (with very confusing detail) and she gave me two example menus that were exactly what I was looking for! I have some guests with dietary restrictions and she made sure to include those options. She provided more food than we needed and was flexible on timing. She even provided a great worker to run the station who handled everything with out any help from me. Since the party was in my backyard I was worried I would be ‘hosting’ which I didn’t want to do, Tricia made sure everything was taken care of. Guests all said the taco bar and empanadas were great! She also worked within my budget which was fantastic!

This place was the absolute perfect place for a home style lunch. Many of their food options were unique, things I’ve never seen in another restaurant. Everything was well priced, and the owner was an absolute gem. Definitely a place I would go back to!

I felt like I was eating at a 5 star restaurant. I have never tasted calamari so amazingly seasoned and cooked. It was honestly as smooth as butter. I ordered the chicken Marsala and honestly was blown away. The prices are also extremely reasonable I would have paid double. I will absolutely be coming back here as soon as possible.

A quaint restaurant with a friendly owner and nice staff. There is an outdoor seating area in the back during warmer months. Their food is fresh, with some of the freshest salad greens I’ve been able to find at a restaurant in the area. Portion sizes are generous, and prices are very reasonable. Everything is made to order, so don’t come in a rush and just enjoy yourself. We’re looking forward to returning on a regular basis.

My family and I went to Sammy Brown’s on our final night visiting for the holidays. The atmosphere was wonderful, the service friendly and the food was amazing. They have something for everyone; from the burger and fries lover to steak and seafood. Everything was fresh and presented so nicely. My family and I will definitely be returning on our next trip to NY.

I’m a full-time traveler, going around the country to see what I can see.
Some times as I’m traveling, I yell at Google to find me something for lunch… in this case, a Club Sandwich. A couple of places popped up and I blindly selected one.
As luck would have it, Sammy Browns’ was just around the corner, with a nice parking spot for my RV.
I was well received as I entered, but quickly realized I was going to have to make a whole lot of decisions regarding what MY “make your own” sandwich was going to be.
I happen to be old enough that me being able to make on the spot decisions is long past… so I just thru-out “… a Turkey Club”. To my surprise that worked, a note was taken, but THEN I was asked “What kind of bread would you like?” Oh No… decision time… and I blurted out “Rustic”… and waited for a laugh… but instead got an “OK”. [another failed attempt at humor on my part ]
While waiting for the sandwich, I was engaged in some pleasent conversation, that in retrospect, I feel I should apologize for responding with my entire life story, but they made me feel so welcomed and interested in it, it just popped out.
Oh, the sandwich… guess I should mentioned something about it…
[. It was the biggest and BEST Turkey Club Sandwich I have ever had…[and I have had a lot of them]]

Service could be improved on. The young (late teens/early twenties) wait staff were helpful, they just need to improve on communication when food is taking a bit to come out and on cleaning up the table.
The more experienced wait staff were excellent! Food was very good, they just need to work on their rice recipe as it was very bland.
