Me and my friends (who are Irish) were accused by the drunken owner to be travelers (gypsies) and were asked if we were going to cause “trouble” or “take narcotics” in his bar.. we thought we had come into a homely Irish bar, but were treated with disrespect by a drunken owner on our way out the door

Those who know, know—Gildea’s is one of Pearl River’s best-kept secrets. For years, many locals have passed by without ever stepping inside. But once you do, you’ll understand why this cozy pub earns such loyal fans.
The menu offers traditional Irish fare done right. While the Shepherd’s Pie is a classic go-to, the real standout is the Irish Chicken Curry—hands down the best dish in the house. It’s rich, flavorful, and truly memorable.
You’ll also find a “proper pint” of Guinness here—smooth, well-poured, and always consistent. Whether you’re popping in for a drink or sitting down for a full meal with friends, Gildea’s delivers. The bartenders and wait staff are exactly what you’d hope for: warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive.
This isn’t just another neighborhood pub—it’s an experience. If you’ve never been, it’s time to stop walking past and start enjoying what the regulars already know: Gildea’s is the real deal.

We had diet cokes, the sausages with curry fries as an app, bangers and mash and fish and chips. My husband loved the thin batter. Service was impeccable. Will be back.

Delicious and huge hamburgers! Prices across the menu were reasonable. While my party arrived to a fairly empty restaurant, it quickly filled up (this was on a sunday). The additional diners enhanced the already cozy atmosphere. Did I mention the tasty burgers? Staff kind and attentive too.

Great Irish Pub! The food is good and has a great bar. Be sure to get the Corned Beef Rueben. Service is amazing! The price point is reasonable. Be sure to drop in if you are in the area!

A nice Irish pub, nice decor and pleasant wait staff, for myself I was disappointed with my meal, my fellow guests were pleased with their selection for dinner, but I was not pleased with the special cheese burger on the menu and nothing else was of any interest to me to eat.
Well yeah a burger, how disappointed, the taste of a burnt burger was not tasty at all. Sorry but it was not good.

Great service, fantastic burgers at a reasonable price. This is a cozy Irish pub with a broad menu. The burgers are huge and always cooked as requested. This is now at the top of our burger list. If you live in the area or are passing by and in the mood for hamburgers, give Gildea’s a try.

Amazing Irish pub fare. If you’re there, please try the fish and chips… (Biggest portion I ever had) and please have it with the barley malt vinegar. I grew up eating fish right off the Pacific Ocean and this was by far the best friend fish I have ever had the pleasure of eating. If you do come, you’ll be showered with friendliness, especially when it comes to the most accommodating barman, Mark. You will not be disappointed.
