posted on yelp and but i wanna share here too! came here for lunch and it was my first time trying!! all the decor was so cute and love the theme, it’s got a really great unique atmosphere. i ordered the Baydestrian and a Smack fry and was literally blown away by the portion size lol, i took home half for lunch the next day, and it all reheated well so that was nice. everything was super yummy, the presentation was also good, and prices are super reasonable for food in the bay!! i saw on IG that they do seasonal milkshake flavors so i plan on going back next time im in the area to try whatever christmasy vibe they’ve got going on. super yum!!

Been coming here since they opened up for business and since I’ve been coming here the burgers have been really good. But, on Tuesday September 2nd 2025, the fries weren’t their original French fries they were plain and tasteless, they weren’t seasoned nor did they have the batter on the fries they use to fry them in on the fries just plain. The burger wasn’t good either something told me not to go there and waste my $20 there yesterday, next time I’ll follow my intuition. I ordered the Baydestrian burger, it was plain no seasoning and not as good as they would usually be. I was highly disappointed because I could had just went over to nations and probably gotten a better burger and fries or just settled for round table. I don’t know who the cooks were back there yesterday at about 3:00 PM, but maybe they shouldn’t be cooking and just find something else in the restaurant to do. The burger patties also tasted like they were cooked in a little water it didn’t have the crunchy ends it usually have, it tasted charbroiled and ugh I don’t like that taste. And I can tell the burger patties were just sitting there cold because the burger wasn’t as fresh and hot. I will not be going back there for a while, it’s too expensive to be ordering their food if they’re not gonna be consistent with the quality of the taste of their food. I do recommend Smack burgers and I will eventually change my review whenever I go back to visit, but I do want the owners to see my review and talk with their staffs about keeping the integrity and the quality of their food consistent because that is what they are known for.
UPDATE: Friday 01/02/2026 around 1:45 PM, as I was eating my meal I realized there was hair in my smack sauce, and my burger as you can see in the photos. And it was two different colors of human hairs in my burger brown nd jet black. I will not be returning back here not coo at all.

The burger patties are so thin they have no meat taste and taste like the burned edges of a real burger. The frozen fries though fried in beef tallow lack the extra step of being cut fresh. They use the better quality of frozen onion rings which is nice. Milkshakes taste like soft serve. They are hiring good people as their service was nice and pleasurable. Too bad you can’t eat service.

If you’re in San Leandro and craving a burger that doesn’t just feed you but wrecks you in the best way possible, Smack Burgers is where you need to be. This spot is not shy it’s loud, indulgent, and unapologetically delicious.
Let’s start with the star: The Baydestrian Burger. Two patties stacked with melted cheese, grilled onions, crisp lettuce, and their house “smack sauce.” The beef has that perfect charred edge and juicy center that only comes from doing it right. The grilled onions add just enough sweetness to balance the savory punch, and the smack sauce is the glue tangy, creamy, and addictive. It’s messy, it’s bold, and it feels like the kind of burger you brag about to your friends later.
Then there’s the Fruity Pebbles Shake and yes, it’s exactly as wild as it sounds. Imagine thick, creamy ice cream blended with that sugary, rainbow cereal crunch from your childhood. It’s playful but done seriously well. The shake is rich and heavy, but the cereal swirl keeps it fun and surprising all the way through. Definitely not your average milkshake it’s nostalgia in a cup with a grown-up kick. The staff are superstars!! A+++++ Service with an amazing positive vibe!
The vibe here is casual and unpolished in the best way. You’re here for the food, and the food shows up with swagger. Don’t come in expecting dainty portions or white-glove service. Do come in hungry, ready to get a little messy, and prepared for flavor that goes all in.
Smack Burgers is already setting itself apart from the usual burger spots around town. Between the Baydestrian and that over-the-top Fruity Pebbles Shake, they’ve got a menu that’s fun, gutsy, and seriously satisfying. If you’re in the East Bay and you want a burger that actually smacks, this is the place.

Three words to describe my experience: Quality, Delicious, and Exciting. The burgers were fresh, well crafted, and tasty. In particular, I enjoyed how well seasoned and crispy and meat was and the texture of the bun. The produce was fresh and the Smack Sauce was addictive! The waffle fries and onions rings were the perfect complement to the burgers. Both had great texture and were fried perfectly. The banana shake deserves a special shout out as it was indulgent and had a true banana flavor; no artificial flavors as you expect with other burger and shake restaurants. The staff were very friendly and efficient in preparing orders. The restaurant itself had a cool vibe and was CLEAN! Highly recommended Smack Burgers to all who are in search of a delicious meal in the East Bay.

The best smash burgers in the bay hands down. I also really liked the fries, you can tell they were fresh. I’m not a big onion ring fan but I put these away. Also the strawberry lemonade was perfect. Can’t wait to come again

Smack Burgers was amazing! The food was fresh, flavorful, and lived up to the name. What really stood out was the kindness and genuine care they showed—an experience that went beyond just great food. You can tell they truly care about their community. I’m very grateful and will definitely be back and continue supporting them. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

These burgers are smackin’ good! I’m not really a big fan of smashed patties but after eating them again, they really hit the spot.
This restaurant has recently opened in San Leandro. I think it used to be a food truck but now they upgraded it to having its own location.
Also, the waffle fries are very crispy and I like how they added Hibiscus Tea as a part of the drink options even though that I’ve never tried it in this restaurant.
Service does take a while though but it’s actually worth coming here since the food is delicious!
