Estevan was the BEST waiter. Amazing service, beautiful ambiance. The staff went above and beyond. We got amazing espresso martinis from Jesus, the bartender. Marta was our chef! Definitely a different experience. You have to walk up several flights of stairs to get to a small, but relatively comfortable dining room with 6 tables. The place looks like a VIP room in a high end strip club. The staff to customer ratio is probably three to one. The room was a little hot and needed some air conditioning at times. The food was above average and better than expected. The shrimp cocktail came with 4 large prawns that were a little smaller than most high end steakhouses. The cocktail sauce was a little bland and needed some more zest and horseradish. The shrimp was well cleaned. The bread was freshly baked and hot out of the over. The bread was okay. The accompanying butter was better. To my surprise, the filet mignon was excellent. It was cooked perfectly and a slight hint of garlic flavor. It pretty much melted in my mouth. I was very impressed with the steak which was equivalent to any high quality steakhouse. They served the steak in an edged pan, making it a little hard to cut. The loaded baked potato was exactly my what it should be. A large potato, baked to perfection, packed with tasty traditional ingredients. Our server was attentive and friendly. I have to ding a star because we waited 12 minutes for drinks even though the bar is 15 feet away, there were 2 other patrons in the place, and I ordered a vodka and water. The staff also made and served martinis to a couple that came in afterwards even though we were obviously there and ordered first. They also tried to pitch the neighboring strip club. I thought that was tasteless, especially for a high end steakhouse.
