3.5 stars! When I originally rated this restaurant 5 stars they had a fantastic chef who is unfortunately no longer working at this restaurant. Last week, I visited their sister location in Morristown, and had their award winning burger. It was so amazing that I wanted to try the burger at this location. For appetizers we started off the crispy cauliflower and the spinach turnovers. The crispy cauliflower was HORRIBLE! It was burnt to a crisp and was hard as a rock! We obviously could not eat it, and it was sent back. The waitress was very sweet and apologized. The spinach turnovers weren’t that great, but edible. They had no flavor, and it was encased in a empanada. The actual empanada could of been much much better. For entrees we had the C+M burger with polenta fries and the spaghetti squash. The C+M burger and polenta fries were very good! The burger was great, but it wasn’t better than the award winning burger at their sister location. The spaghetti squash came in a delicious garlic cream sauce! That dish was fantastic! For dessert we had the chocolate stout pudding and the hot blondie. The chocolate stout pudding was good, but I wouldn’t order it again as basically it was a thick chocolate pudding. I thought it was basic and really nothing special. The hot blondie was DELICIOUS! It was filled with melted chocolate chips and macadamia nuts then topped with chocolate ice cream and peanut butter. Totally worth ordering! All in all appetizers sucked here, but we had some amazing entrees and desserts. I’d still give it another shot again! Hopefully, it’s better next time around!

I heard so many good things about this place but that was not our experience. Staff was great but food wasn’t. I’ve had better fast food. Prices are expensive and I’d be ok if the food was good but it wasn’t. Broiled shouldn’t mean greasy. Scallops and shrimp were brown(high heated butter?). The shrimp also tasted funny also.
I really wanted to like them, unfortunately I was very disappointed

Chef Gaccione has done a very nice job opening an upscale New American restaurant in Madison. My fiancee and I came here for brunch last weekend. We arrived shortly after they opened and were amongst the first to arrive for the day. They’ve done a fantastic job rennovating the restaurant — it is very open, but still intimate.

The food is very tasty, albeit a bit pricey — especially for brunch. I had chicken & waffles, she had a salad and soup. All of the main courses were delicious! I have always loved chicken and waffles, and these guys definitely do it right! The chicken is crispy, a tad spicy, but also sweet. The waffle is sweet potato and is more savory. For dessert, we had the pineapple cake…which left a bit to be desired. Especially since it was $10.

We’ve eaten at Chef Gaccione’s other restaurant in Morristown, South & Pine. The menu’s are VERY similar. (Almost too similar…I’d like to see some variety, but please don’t take away my chicken & waffles)

We will definitely be back to try the dinner menu — as it seems to be very popular later in the day.

Very excited to see this place in downtown Madison!

We celebrated my wife’s birthday here. Just the two of us.
Front of house (Andrew) and our waitress (Alex) were top notch. They made this dinner more then just dinner it was an experience!!! That was before they brought out all the mind blowing dishes!!! Chef Leia is a magician. I highly recommend asking what is seasonal, new to the menu, or your servers favorite. But pick anything, we way over-ordered to try it all. It’s totally affordable because it’s byob. We brought a $12 bottle of wine rather then spending an additional $60 for a bottle at the restaurant and spent that extra savings on delicious apps!!!

We live in NYC and are in Jersey every now and then for work and try to make it to one of Chef Leia’s restaurants every time.

If you are looking for top notch delicious food you must plan a meal here! Menu is amazing. I have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. The menu changes with the seasons as they use a lot of locally grown/sourced items in their dishes. It is a BYOB but their in-house non alcoholic drinks are super yummy! Grain bowls and salads are awesome, salmon and steak are always cooked to perfection and the butterscotch pudding dessert is worth the cheat! The food looks and tastes like Chef Leia puts a lot of thought into it. Servers are great and attentive without being annoying hovering over you to leave.
I would also like to note that they definitely go the extra distance disinfecting the tables, servers wearing masks and gloves, etc. I can’t wait to eat inside the restaurant again as the decor is very cool!

The fried coating on my cod was thin and soggy, while the coating on the shrimp was thick and hard.
The cod was served in small pieces that fell apart and barely had any taste.
The fries were soggy and over seasoned.
The dishes are expensive for the amount of food served.
There is no table service (you order at the counter) and everything is served in single-use containers.
I don’t like giving bad reviews but this one is truly deserved. 🙁

Literally one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The bass was phenomenal, and I’m so sad that it’s a seasonal entree. The duck was awesome as well. If I had to find one complaint, the appetizers were a little small, but so good and the perfect amount to hold you over til the main course.

This review has been overdue as I’ve been here a couple of times now & each experience has been perfectly consistent. Chef/owner Gaccione is doing a phenomenal job. Dined there this evening for an early dinner so not too crowded. I got the salmon which was perfectly cooked & decorated beautifully. The service was friendly & just right, not too overwhelming like some sit down restaurants can be. They even have these mixed drinks that are non alcoholic but so flavorful. I’m assuming they are made in house based on the ingredients & presentation. Oh & make sure to save room for dessert they never disappoint. Do yourself a favor & treat yourself to Central+Main. I look forward to trying their other location in Mo’town!
