Definitely my new favorite spot for tacos and tomales! Their 5 for $10 deal on Tuesdays is fantastic, the steak tacos are the best I’ve ever had. Other places the steak is too dry or no seasoning or just taste like salt, but here its juicy and seasoned just right. The tomales are also phenomenal! Usually go there around lunch time and it’s not busy, went last Tuesday around 430/5 and the entire place was full I think only 2 other tables were open after I sat down. Yes the service was slow but they were crazy busy, and the food was perfect when it came out hot and fresh. I enjoy watching shows on my phone when I go out by myself to eat, so I don’t care how long it takes just as long as my food is hot and what I ordered I have no problem waiting for it.

My daughter and I stopped for lunch here. It’s our first time, and it did not disappoint. I had the 5 Taco plate (the Tuesday special) and it was delicious.

I’ll definitely come back on my next visit to Fort Wayne.

We continue to love this place! The food is great and the meats are very flavorful! My husband really likes the El pastor.

The music is enjoyable as well. They play audio as well as videos of various styles.

Come eat here!!!

Taqueria Rancho Alegre offers delicious Authentic Mexican dishes. Have been there a few times and haven’t get a chance to try all the items on their menu. They feature from tacos with a variety of meats to choose from, to Mexican style seafood dishes. The handmade tortillas take the tacos to the next level – the tacos de tripa are the best! I also love the flavorful Torta Cubana that’s generously portioned, and the birria! The chips and salsa are great, the horchata is sweet, and the margaritas and other drinks are on point. Highly recommended for an authentic and satisfying meal.

I was directed here after learning their $2.75 tacos are just $1.50 on Tuesdays! It turns out that is only for 4 meats (I believe chicken, steak, chorizo, and al pastor).

Regardless, I was very excited to try a number of meats I’ve never seen ANYWHERE else, very unique. We tried 8 of the 12 meats. Chips and salsa are free and decent, atmosphere is very fun. They load up the meats plenty as well! Here are the 8 we had and my thoughts in no particular order:

-Steak – Very solid choice especially for $1.50.
-Chorizo – Surprised it was spicy but also VERY sweet and cinnamon, reminded me of a coney sauce.
-Al Pastor – Same as Chorizo, sweet and distinct cinnamon reminiscent of coney sauce. My wife loved that about it but that made these 2 my personal least favorites (to each their own!).
-Chicharron Rojo – This and the next are both the same but with a red sauce vs green. Very soft pieces of fat and these two had the most heat.
-Chicharron Verde – Same as above, a bit sweeter.
-Lengua – Diced up very small, pretty good and tender but not my favorite lengua.
-Cabeza – This in the photos is the one by itself. It is cow head meat so VERY unusual and had bits of fat and meat and was kind of stewed.
-Tripa – This was maybe one of my favorites, unusual for sure. A mix of nice pieces of meat and VERY crispy bits of fat or something and so very crunchy throughout.

If you want to play it safe, the first half of meats are your place. If you love different and unusual things, the entire second half is for you. The Chicharron meats and the tripa would be my first suggestions.

Last, I will say everything says they open at 11am but today we arrived at 11:20am and they were closed. They did answer and say they open at 11:30am (as if that was normal) and then we were good 🙂

Tuesday, I had to get out and try Rancho Allegre, in the strip near Pierre’s and Peanuts.

Their deal is a $1.50 taco on Tuesdays with quite a few meat choices. They have a special where if you get 5 tacos, you can add beans and rice and make it a meal for $10. I had to try it, you know, for science.

I had two steak, one pastor, one chorizo, and one with steak and chorizo mixed. All of the tacos had a pretty good amount of meat for the corn shell size. There was a generous amount of onion and cilantro on them as well. The beans and rice came on a separate plate. They were served very hot. Whenever possible, I always get a Mandarin Jarritos drink. So good!

At the bottom of the pictures, I got to peek at something that isn’t on the menu. It looked like a giant quesadilla, but had a special name. It was every bit as big as my whole forearm.

They have been open for about a year, and are still adjusting the menu. The owner says there are a few new items coming soon. I can’t wait to see what else they offer.

Do you have a favorite meat for street tacos? Mine is definitely asada.

Quite quick meals, the time the service is excellent and most of the time is speedy. Lots of neat decor. Food is usually filling a decent sized plate. Very great Mexican restaurant, may be the greatest in the Fort Wayne area

I’m not sure if chips and salsa are complimentary, we didn’t get any. We couldn’t ask our server because he never returned to us. Ordered queso, it was served in a bowl in a plate with chips. The queso was liquid, not because it was so hot, but because of how watered down it was. I don’t know what went wrong there. The chips? Not enough if you were going to actually eat your queso. Ordered the 3 amigos combo, has 3 different tacos and rice and beans. Tacos were dry, not a single lime in sight. Rice and beans were mediocre. Couldn’t hold a conversation at dinner due to how incredibly loud the music was. Could not get a refill on our drinks. Never again, I wouldn’t recommend this place to ANYONE.
