Nice sushi place in San Antonio. The selection of sushi and sashimi is great. The service is always good and the vibe is good. This time we had the gyoza, tuna tower, lemon speciali roll, flama roll, and the volcano roll. All three were recommended by the server and I would second the reco. The quality sushi options in San Antonio are limited, but I would put this on the list as one of the best.

A very classy sit down sushi restaurant with simple yet delightful interior decor, courteous wait staff, and delicious sushi .
The serving style is very elegant as well.
I tried the Toro ko Special Roll, which was more pricey, but simply exquisite. The tuna on top has such a perfect flavor, I have never had such flavorful sushi before that roll.
I got the Super Spicy Roll as well, which was not as impressive but still quite good, though it may have been a bit better chilled a bit more.
The miso soup for an appetizer was decent as well, but the Toro Ko Special really carried the meal for me.

We went through three different servers, each asking the same questions, yet we still received our appetizer until after we had finished our meal. Nearly 40 minutes later, only half of our meal arrived, and it was cold. The rest of the food didn’t come out until about 50 minutes after ordering, despite us being only a party of two.
Definitely not a place to bring a date. We couldn’t even have a conversation, as a toddler was running around the restaurant playing hide-and-seek through the chairs and screaming the entire time. No interventions were made even as other guests seemed uncomfortable. I usually never leave reviews but this place was basically a ghost kitchen as they were barely serving in person guests.

Toro’ko sushi at NW Military and Huebner is outstanding! Brian, our server, is attentive, knowledgeable, and a pleasure. The atmosphere is peaceful and beautiful. But, the food is the star! Absolutely delicious and fresh! Give this place a try. You will be happy you did!

Wow, what pleasant surprise! The sushi was super fresh tasty and presented in a creative way. My husband and I come from San Francisco and have been used to some of the best sushi. We also traveled to Japan. We know our sushi! Try this location and you won’t be disappointed!

Came in here to eat not knowing what to expect, but I was not disappointed at all. outstanding service, they found space for us even as a walk in when it was very busy. I also loved the scenery of the restaurant. the presentation of the food is so creative and the quality of the fish is just unbelievable. I had bluefin tuna sashimi and toro nigiri, and I was amazed by the freshness of the fish, I also tried a cosmopolitan and I loved it. Definitely the best sushi in San Antonio and tasty drinks to match. I will be back!
