Stopped here on my drive from Reno to Oakland and it was a lovely addition to my day! Enjoyed my chicken sandwich at nearby donner lake. Also had a nice time talking to Niels, who works at the shop and has a pleasant voice.

Wow. Phenomenal food. Better than the 5 star resort restaurant we were staying at in Lake Tahoe. Liked the food so much we drove here two days in a row and got the Mexican corn salad, shrimp ceviche, tuna poke & housemade chips. The entire menu is to go, there are 2 picnic tables by the parking lot to sit and eat, the owner is lovely. Such clean, well prepared, high quality, fresh & delicious food.

We came for the fried chicken and stayed for…everything. Even (especially?) their house made hot sauce is worth purchasing for your house. I can’t wait to get food here every time I’m in Tahoe. Sorry photo is terrible we ate everything

The food was excellent! I ordered the chicken sandwich and the Greek salad. The chicken sandwich was delicious and had the perfect amount of crispy. Be sure to try the homemade hot sauce. The Greek Salad was so fresh with a perfect blend of herbs and spices, it’s best I’ve ever had. My husband ordered the Ruben and loved it. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town.

Wide selection of salads, sandwiches, wines, cookbooks, olive oils, lots of fun pantry staples. Fresh deli items including carrot, vegetable salads, and some fresh king salmon from New Zealand. We didn’t get hot food there, but we saw the fish and chips walk by and it looked delicious.

After experiencing an incredibly rude interaction by the owners of the nearby Smokey’s place, I decided to walk over to the Truckee Food Shop and grab a roasted half chicken with vegetables and Caesar salad. The owner was probably the most pleasant person I’ve dealt with in a very long time. And the food was great! I went on my home to Sacramento area but stopped at the lookout on the old Donner Summit Road. I enjoyed my meal with the wonderful scenery in front of me. It was nice and much better than dealing with that rude old old lady at Smokey’s.

Creative and delicious food options for take away! This place 100% lives up to its great reviews, which wasn’t always my experience this weekend in Truckee. Salad was delicious. Fried chicken was amazing. The place itself is beautiful, and in addition to the made-to-order food options, they have plenty of fresh grab-and-go options and a very small market with wine, oils, spices, noodles, etc. You won’t be disappointed!

Great food! I was visiting a friend in town and stopped by. All the food is to go, and it is great if you want to grab a delicious home cooked meal to take home and serve for dinner. I had the American sandwich for lunch and will go back to try out the dinner options (ribs, meatloaf, daily special, sides) the next time I visit. There is also a great selection of baked goods that all looked delicious! I bought some homemade granola and it was also very good. 🙂 You can’t go wrong here!
