There was a power outage on December 23, 2024 that affected multiple areas in Ocean County. The closest Wawa was closed due to not having power, so I believe this Wawa location was the next closest one. We came here to get coffee and some hot food. The employees were aware of the power outage and thus knew that it would be a lot more busy. I was a little stressed and could not get my app to work as planned, but Kevin, who was our cashier, was extremely kind. It seemed that Justin was managing the food area and he did a great job. I just wanted to give a quick recognition to these staff who work to make our personal lives a little bit easier. I also filled out the Wawa survey to recognize these people by name, so I truly hope they know they are appreciated!

My wife and I stopped here to buy a couple of sandwiches to be home after a very long day of visiting our brother in law in Penn Medicine in Philadelphia. We were kinda starving. We’ve had sandwiches from other wawa locations that were delicious. For some reason the sandwiches we got from this store were terrible. Last night, Thursday, 10-12-2023, Kit Dwight and I finally picked up one of the Wawa Pizzas.
We stopped in at the Lakehurst Circle Wawa and ordered the 14 inch pizza.
Kit’s side was covered with sausage and sliced red onions….
My side was covered with pepperoni and cubed green peppers….
It took 10 minutes to bake and smelled like your typical pizza shop pie that was mouth watering and pleasant as we walked back to our car.
As we exited the store a passing customer asked what I thought about Wawa’s pizza offerings, I told him the pie was our first time purchase.
He commented on how good it smelled and finished off the conversation about how even a bad pizza can be good.
After driving 10 – 15 minutes home, it would be the Great Reveal of another “Gas Station” Pizza…..
We had tried the Saturn Pizza in the Conoco Station on Route 70, Lakewood, NJ 1 to 2 years ago and was pleasantly surprised!!!
Now for the review, the pizza did cool down some during the trip, it wasn’t as aromatic as it was piping hot out of the oven.
The crust was thin, had a rubbery texture and was bland in taste.
The taste was average, the crust had minimal flop with a minor fold, the pepperoni and peppers had a good taste of freshness on my side and the sausage with red onion slices on Kit’s slices were also delicious.
The cheese and sauce was very average for what would be described as Football Pizza.
Both of us probably would of enjoyed it more if the time in the box was limited to just a few minutes…
The crust was blackened overall more than usual and probably diminished the taste experience…
Will probably give it another try…
The enticing aspect is that, the pizza is baked from 4 pm to 3 am and probably would invite late night road warrior’s and or celebrants returning home from a late evening outing!!!
The pizza 14 inch custom made $12.99
+ Pepperoni – 50 cents
+ Green Pepper Chunks – 50 cents
+ Crumble Sausage – 1 dollar
+ Slivered Onions – 50 cents
This added $2.50
So the Pizza çost $15.49 and a promo for 2 Liter Pepsi Product for $1.00 made the grand total = $16.49 before tax.
As we know, some may like it and other’s may not.
Taste belongs to the individual!!!
I also believe that Wawa needs to place their waxed food wrapping paper in the book to separate the pie from touching the cardboard to prevent transfer to the crust!!!

This would have been a one star if it wasn’t for the cashiers who were polite and friendly. Besides that, train wreck comes to mind. Not sure who’s teaching these people how to make burritos but that was the worst burrito I have ever had from any Wawa. Clearly from the picture you can see it looks like it was rolled by a 5-year-old. And by far the biggest complaint about burritos is they don’t strain out the liquid because they’re in a big hurry. So you bite into it and you get liquid pouring out the bottom which happened in this case as well. It looked more like a crunchwrap with soggy bread.

I don’t expect gourmet food from Wawa, but I mean damn. The stuff is pretty much ready go, they just have to put it together and maybe heat it up. I understand everyone has a bad day but does everyone there have a bad day everyday? I haven’t gotten a fully correct food order yet. I pray they hire some adults for the food service. Cashiers are always great and the store is clean, but seriously God forbid you have to ask the food prep people a question, they will go above and beyond to make sure they fully ignore you.
