The food, service, location, and vibe are all excellent. Indoor and outdoor cafe-style seating overlooking the river serving sandwiches, salads, baked goods, and coffees. Owner is very passionate about her business and her food. We had coffees, the sandwich special for the day, and the hot honey ham sandwich. It was soooo good!

The food speaks for itself, see the yummy pics. Even things I HATE, like tomatoe soup? I love Steph’s tomato soup and would order it again. The quiche, the cookie bars, the spicy avocado toast, the bluebird toast, the breakfast burrito, etc…. I’ve made it a goal to eat my way through the menu and have made it through about 75%. My biggest challenge is remembing what I’ve had and doing something different. And now Steph has added specialty gourmet coffees to her menu- even better!
Steph, Jodi, Ian, AQudrey, and Bill are so friendly and awesome. They go above and beyond to ensure a good experience, whether it’s Steph convincing me to try the tomato soup or Jodi with her big smile or little Audrey with her giggles and cheerfulness… Everyone is so welcoming!
The location is a bit out of the way; it’s behind the gym and bank off the main drag through Oak Harbor. But the view of the river is phenomenal, and there’s an outside patio with tables and chairs and umbrellas. Inside is bright and cheerful; it reminds this New Englander of the ocean with the greens and browns and water view. Definitely a great place to hang out and do my work- great start to my weekend days!

Fantastic Dimensions
Excellent example of a local family business. They make everything they can in-house, and the recipes are great! From breakfast to dinner, coffees and teas, everything I’ve had here is a winner. Support true local business and give The Riverside Roost a try!

This place is a hidden gem! Super friendly and helpful service in a cozy setting. The food was fantastic. I had a turkey cranberry wrap special and my husband had the cali club on a croissant with sides of chips and fresh fruit. Lots of interesting menu choices with creative, fresh, quality ingredients.
