Great combination of American BBQ and Asian beef noodles. High quality and delicious meat. They even have beef pho! The soup is so tasty! Turkey breast is the softest and juiciest one I’ve ever had. Heard the lamb shoulder is pretty good, but had no luck to try since lamb was sold out so quickly! Highly recommend for meat lovers!!!

More excellent food 9/22. The full rack of ribs was perfectly cooked and the smoked chicken leg was decent along with a $5. house salad. The chicken teriyaki potstickers I could eat every day. The wings had blackened skins but were flavorful and juicy. Glad they brought back some spirits for a full bar.

Very happy to see the SmokeKing back up and running. A late July afternoon 2022, we sat outside and ordered a full rack of pork ribs, a two meat combo of brisket (hearing there were only two small portions left) and pulled pork with mac and cheese and sweet potato fries. They were out of wings or we would have tried some. Favorite dish: Pulled pork. Delectable. Ribs were well seasoned but my partner thought they were just a little pink at the bone but that may have been from the smoking. Both sides were a plus. The bar is not a full bar right now because of staff shortage, but there is wine and beer. We loved the spiked lemonade, too.

2021 – It’s great to see someone invested in replacing the former barbecue eatery, “The Firehouse Smoker,” with a new barbecue place named “SmokeKing Restaurant.” It’s a shame to see any small business go under, especially these days with government shutdowns, but the general consensus as to why “The Firehouse Smoker” closed, was because of its high prices not because of the good food.

Interestingly, barbecue at least in CT, is expensive. Omitting our take-out meal we added on to our bill, our tab came to thirty dollars per person. We did have three special menu drinks (2@9/1@10) which added $28. to the ticket, so if a patron doesn’t imbibe and only has water or a coke, the price will be more favorable. The drinks were well-made and mixed, but if on a budget order take-out as many people came in to do during our time there.

Our favorite menu item was the lamb spring roll appetizer. Not something a barbecue place usually offers, we were happy for this option as well as the chicken potstickers, though we prefer the spring rolls. Both are handmade on the premises.

The brisket burger, cooked to order, was good, but it’s really hard to find a bad hamburger these days. It’s always appreciated to be able to order meat how you want it, especially for rare lovers. The seasoned fries accompanying this dish were fair.

From the smoker, the half pound pulled pork was what it should be, tender, moist and lean, but lacking in seasoning and not hot in temperature.

Looking forward to a second try, especially with their baby back ribs and pulled lamb shoulder. Salads, pho & soup, and kids menu available.

We stopped here today for lunch. Really nice, cozy place on the side of the road. I got full rack of ribs with fries and my Wife got whole lb of pulled pork. Food came quick and it was delicious, let me tell U. Mmmm. My Wife despite her tiny size ate whole thing. Price was great, definitely I recommend this place.

Some of the best BBQ in New England! We ordered the buttermilk coleslaw, baked beans, Mac and cheese, brisket and pork belly burnt ends. They did not disappoint!! Definitely coming back!

Phenomenal BBQ, my party got a plethora of dishes and all were fantastic. They have sandwiches, meat platters with a choice of 1, 2, or 3 meats with sides and a delicious Mac and cheese with pulled pork that had all of us wanting more. Highly recommend this place, and if you go get the potatoes and home made BBQ sauces!

This place is PHENOMENAL! Sat in the backyard overlooking the River and the smoker, saw a guy chop some wood, lovely! Had the v moist Turkey sandwich with cheese grits and partner had the in house made brisket burger and fries. SO GOOD! Dumpling appetizer was great too.

Also, they accommodated our dog sweetly.

Whoever said the waitress’ shorts were too short = 1 star was uhm… jealous?
Everyone was very nice.

We ate outside on the front patio but there is also a back patio. Just got simple appetizers and a glass of wine cuz it was lunchtime. My server was really nice. It has a slight Asian fusion menu wise which actually is what brought me here.

Great little stop for BBQ close by to the Saville Dam. The employees were super friendly and the place gave off a nice fun filled environment. The food is to die for. I had the Diablo Sandwich with a side of Mac and Cheese. Both were big portions that left me feeling full. The brisket, sausage, and Mac and cheese were delicious, but I felt the Diablo sauce could have been spicier to really live up to its name, although the flavor of it was fantastic. If you do go don’t sleep on the sweet tea. It definitely hit the spot on the 90+ degree day that I visited!
