We went for the first time to Via Sposito which is across from Delicious Orchards on Route 34 in Colts Neck. Nice atmosphere, reasonable pricing ($35-55) and the portions are large. Restaurant was clean. Service was excellent and the meal was delicious. We split an appetizer of baked calamari that was very good. I had the Sunday Special (Braciole that had meatballs, short rib, sausage, and homemade pasta braised in a tomato sauce) while my husband had the pork chops and one of my sons had the Chicken Parmagiana. For dessert, we shared Tartufo. Would definitely come back and definitely recommend to others.

Came here on a Saturday night for dinner.
We had high expectations being that this is one of their three locations. It is truly a poor attempt at being a traditional Italian restaurant, especially compared to the variety of other similar priced experiences here in Monmouth County.

Food was overcooked and bland, even the specials. Presentation was terrible and small portions still yielding a several hundred dollar bill for four people, not worth the money at all. Atmosphere is outdated and cramped, one single person unisex bathroom for the whole restaurant. Service also was poor and not personal in any way.

This was definitely one to try once and probably never return unless their other locations solve these issues. I have been to a handful of these other new, upscale places- and for the prices they charge we should have had a completely different experience.

Colts Neck’s best kept secret!
David was our server and could not have been more attentive. My dirty martini was perfect. The atmosphere is cozy with a level of sophistication. An added bonus was having a very talented singer performing live classics. My husband had traditional pizza which he thoroughly enjoyed I had a special
Of bucacatini pasta

It was our first time at the restaurant. We had heard great things about it! Our seating arrangement wasn’t the best, we were seated in between 2 large parties which one of them was expecting a handicapped person that was going to come in through the back door to where our table was . The handicapped person arrived and the door was left open .. needless to say the wind and cold air was on our backs for quite some time so that was unpleasant. I would have expected the hostess to open the door for the handicapped person and then close it instead allowing the customer to leave the door open for the rest of her party . We had ordered a bottle of wine at the start and told our server that we would like an additional one when done with the first one .. that one never came so at the end of our meal I told him to forget the wine at this point . Overall the food was good except for the salad we ordered.. the dressing was bitter but we didn’t say anything because we were enjoying our time with our (college age) boys. Dessert was basic. We weren’t really attended to most of the time because it started to get busy. We paid the check and proceeded to leave when our server followed us to the outside front vestibule and confronted us with “ a snarky “ were you happy with my service?” That was the topping on the cake for us at that point! We tip according to service and it is our decision on what to tip .. not what the server expects us to tip! We were also charged a $8 credit card service fee. The food was good the service strange and needless to say … this is a “One and Done” for us. I don’t think that a server should be chasing customers outside to question the tip that was left! It was less than 20% and that was our prerogative!!

I can’t even explain how amazing of a time my family and I had here. Everything from the appetizers, entrees, drinks, and desserts were not a doubt a 10/10. The service was also amazing, we had Erin as our waitress and she did such a great job serving us. Highly recommend and make sure to come with an appetite!

Would give 0 stars if I could! Terrible place. Save your money and drive a few minutes down 34 and go to Prima – they have great food and the kindest owner and good service. Very much unlike this restaurant.

Had a super disappointing and disheartening experience at this establishment. My family experienced some of the worst hospitality we have ever seen in our lives from staff at Via Sposito…

The group stopped in, casually on a Saturday night – the first thing that my dad asked the staff was whether it was okay to dine there given the way they were dressed – which was nothing fancy, but casual and acceptable. But I guess the staff was bothered by that.. not that they communicated so. The staff could have answered, “no, your attire is not appropriate/ doesn’t follow our dress code.” We would have left. Truly don’t know what the issue was.

Service was super rushed. It felt like they didn’t want to serve us. The second the appetizer came out she asked us to order dinner. We asked for 5 minutes and she refused us… saying that she had to put the order in at that moment because “dishes may take 45 minutes to cook” and that we “may not get our food”… lol it was laughable…

When we asked for water, the waitress said that they didn’t have any glasses for the water. What do you mean you don’t have any glasses for water? It felt like she was playing a joke or blatantly trying to upset us.

Icing on the cake, the waitress served my dad an expired beer. She claimed it was their last can & they don’t even carry it anymore. When he confronted her about the date on the can, she was rude, and did not really seem to care about serving expired alcohol. Photo attached with the beer’s born date clearly shown (07/29/24), because now the restaurant is claiming the beer wasn’t expired in their response. FYI… we work in the industry too, lol. The manager also brushed us off. So upsetting.

I don’t ever aim to bash businesses, especially local ones, but it is disappointing to find out that going to restaurants marketed as luxe and upscale doesn’t mean you are going to be treated in such a way, at all. In fact, the opposite.

Definitely won’t be returning to this place… I wish them the best and truly hope they re-evaluate the way they treat paying customers.

What a great eexperience! 3 of us went for a Friday late lunch/ early dinner. We had appetizers – mozzarella en carozza, fried calamari and grilled octopus. Everything was done perfectly – neither overdone nor underdone. For entree’s, 2 of us had Pollo scarpiello and 1 of us had chicken parmigian. Again, done to perfection. The flavors of the scarpiello blended perfectly (the sweet sausage was so good!) and the chicken parmigian was breaded and fried perfectly.
Our wait person, Angela, was, as always, wonderful. She has taken care of us before and did an excellent job again.

We dined at Via Sposito on 8-24-24 for my wife’s birthday. The host staff was warm and friendly and our waiter, Jimmy, was excellent all night, We had cocktails and wine by the glass along with our delicious dinner rolls, appetizers of meatballs and salad. All were excellent. For dinner we had Bolognese, Pescatora with white and red sauce, as well as a special meat dish with Sunday sauce. No one was disappointed and the portions we very generous. For dessert we ordered to selections and they sparkled them up for my wife’s birthday.
Overall a very nice atmosphere, excellent food, and most important great service.
We’ll be back.

WOW .. no really … WOW… honestly … DELICIOUS!!! It’s about time that there is a restaurant that does it right on all fronts… Food – Service and Atmosphere… our waitress Angela is the consummate professional… so much respect for someone that totally respects and appreciates her clientele.. wouldn’t let’s us over order .. did not take advantage of us all being hungry !!. The presentation of the food is simply excellent – the Sunday Gravy was like being in Italy … the whole tomato’s straight from Naples.. the meats – all prime straight from the Bronx – can’t beat it!! Chef Anna leads a kitchen team that makes everything absolutely perfect !!

Dessert – yum Homemade Rice Pudding – just like Grandma’s and the Zeppoles warm- powder sugar and scrumptious- melts in your mouth …

Don’t think twice – this is your new home base!!!
