We ate Argentinian Steaks with roasted veggies y un llapingacho (Ecuadorian potato patty). Yum yum I think when no one was looking we licked our plates! lol For apps we ordered platano maduros con empanadas de carne.
All of your smiles contributed to our lovely night! You’ve made this Ecuadorian girl so happy! Building memories to last a lifetime. Thank you for producing such culinary diversity for Union Pier! Bring that 2nd location to Northwest side of Chicago por favor! We need Chef’s flavors here! See you in August when we return for lazy summer dayz in Union Pier xoxo Sincerely xoxo Michelle & Byron Beck!
For dessert, we treated ourselves to the churros with chocolate sauce, which were warm, crispy, and just the right amount of sweet. A perfect ending!
The menu offered a great selection of food choices, making it easy to find something for everyone. Prices were fair for the quality and portion sizes. The restaurant offers both indoor seating and a screened-in patio area, creating a cozy, flexible dining atmosphere. There’s also a separate bar area, and the night we visited, they had live music—an engaging performer added to the lively vibe of the evening. The service was fine and the young lady was attentive.
The only downside of the night was the margarita. It was smaller than expected and lacked the flavor punch we hoped for, especially considering the price.
Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience, and I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant. We were staying at the hotel and we did order from the restaurant twice making it very convenient for hotel guest who don’t want to leave to have a nice dinner. Come hungry and ready to enjoy!
I’ll preface my review with the fact that I managed a restaurant for years, so I may be a little critical.
I was greeted by a hostess that was on their phone. After they finished their message, they looked up to greet me. I sat in the dining area near a window. The tables and restaurant were very clean.
My server was prompt for the first visit. I was asked what I wanted to drink before seeing a menu or knowing what type of products they had. When I asked, I was told “we have really good margaritas.”
While I appreciate the recommendation, I think it’s appropriate to offer non-alcoholic choices first, and make recommendations for alcoholic beverages upon request. This put me in a spot where I had to express that I don’t drink. Not a huge issue, but something to work on in my opinion.
It took a bit for my server to make it back for my orderm I ordered Carne Tacos and chips and salsa.
The food came FAST, and was very fresh. The meat cuts were delicious, but the flavor of the meat was muted by the overwhelming pickled onions. The corn tortillas were soggy and oily, but tasted okay.
The black beans were slightly spicy, and very good. The rice was rice The salsa was good, but a little heavy on cilantro for my liking, and the chips were over salted.
Overall I did enjoy my meal, but couldn’t help but notice a few things that didn’t quite meet my liking. I think the salty foods are likely much tastier with one of the margaritas I was recommended
If you’re in the area, this location may be worth the visit if you’re looking for a laid back environment that’ll serve up some quick and tasty food!
On Tuesdays, the restaurant serves all-you-can eat soft shell tacos: flour or corn tortillas with a variety of vegetarian and meat options – all fresh and delicious. Great selection of beers, wines, and creative cocktails.
Highly recommend this place.
