I will ALWAYS support black owned businesses. Little work to do here. I pulled up looked like the business was closed. But it was open, the lady at the counter was very pleasant and kind. I wanted to try a little of everything. A lot of the things I was asking for they were out of! Hood classics! Italian beef, mild sauce, gyro that kind of stuff! She gave me some specials they were running and I went with those. I knew it was gonna be a wait as I did not call ahead. There is a gas station in the same building. I got a lemonade that tastes like Kool-Aid! Now don’t get me wrong if you say kool-aid. I’ll drink it but don’t have my mouth ready for lemonade, and it’s not! Disappointing! The food eventually was ready, and I was sure that I asked for some sauce even what they didn’t have, and I got none! The food was fresh, hot, and prepared to order. I don’t mind trying again! I just know what to be prepared for next time around.

Food is overpriced and was horrible
Fries and chicken soaked in grease. Chicken dry on the inside. Grease is obviously old. Has “flavored” lemonade…tasted like sugar water with a drop of flavor . The cook had to see how dark and greasy everything was. How do you have the audacity to put that in someones bag and charge the prices you do?

First time going here and definitely going again. I absolutely loved the catfish. It was so good. The portion size go above and beyond for the pricing! She deserves to be sold out of food every time!

Couldn’t get in. Website said it opened at 12. Sign on door said 1. Went somewhere else. Will try again another day when they are open for lunch on time. Menu looks very interesting. May 10th: finally went for supper and had the catfish dinner. Two HUGE filets, coated with cornmeal and seasoned with lemon pepper. Some of the best catfish I’ve ever had.

House of Flavas has the most authentic Chicago style food Madison has to offer. You get plenty options. You get huge portions sizes. You get great service. But above all, you get a place of love. It’s just that extra sprinkle of friendliness. Or that dash of assistance while exploring the endless possibilities of what your taste buds crave. It could be that everytime you go in, you feel a comfort like it was your mom’s kitchen. What I do know is that it works for them. And I recommend this place to everyone looking for a full stomach and heart ❤️

Fantastic food there chicken has so much flavor and the Catfish absolutely stunning the food is very impressive I definitely recommend them please go check them out you will not be disappointed, also they have signature lemonade flavors extremely good

I cannot express how much I love The House! 100,000% recommend! The soul food weekends with the jerk chicken is a personal fav & something I’ve only missed once. The burgers are bomb! I love the fact that I was greeted as soon as I entered… before I even walked to the register, the ladies at the register were very welcoming! The owner had came from the back when my food was ready and you can tell she’s takes pride in her cooking because she was smiling from ear to ear!
I recently became aware of this restaurant because of a Facebook post and I definitely will be spreading the word and will be a frequent customer any time I’m on the East Side of Madison as they have a variety of menu options; from subs, burgers, wings, wraps and more! And I can’t wait to try it all!
