I usually don’t write negative reviews but I felt that I needed to. The place is definitely a hole in a wall type of places but it doesn’t justify the quality. The other night my friends and I went for some sodas and an order of candied yams. The candied yams were complete mush and tasted like boiled yams. We got 3 sodas all sodas were expired 6-7 months ago. The minimum you need to spend is 10 for card and they don’t have Apple Pay. All in all upset to know this place nearby doesn’t really care for quality. I can’t speak on the other food but this is just my experience.

Fish and chicken was seasoned and well fried. Good was not greasy was delivered still hot. If you have a chance, I’d suggest checking this place out. We enjoyed so much we ordered two days in a row! Both days the food tastes exactly the same.

I was craving fried fish tonight . I just had to have it. Im scrolling through Yelp trying to find a place to eat fish and then I scrolled upon her. Maxine’s On The Boulevard. I was driving and looking for this place. It wasn’t lite up, sign was dark, but I caught the name Maxine and I said that’s it, made a u turn, and parked around the corner. I thought to myself this is a hole in the wall. People where coming in and out of this place. I called a head of time and asked if they had catfish and whiting and she said yes. Baby, let me tell you I ordered my food and that was one of the best fish and chicken I had in queens so far. This is going to be my soul food spot from now and I hope they stay consistent. This place is a must try.

I tried so hard not to leave them a negative feedback but I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time and let it slide. I was a first time customer so gave them a second chance and order the same thing the following day. Chicken was still badly discolored inside and wasn’t fresh once again. The exact same issue I had previously. The chicken was extremely brown inside, and smelled very raw which is an indication that the meat is rottening. How did this restaurant not notice how spoiled this meat was before frying it and serving it. This can make people extremely sick. The bone was dark as well. Not even Popeyes chicken or these little corner chicken spots serve anything like this. I made sure to put them on notice before ordering the 2nd time and they still send it to me in the same condition

Had the fried fish, was everything is expected. Crispy, flaky soft and juicy. The double chocolate cake was nice. Mac and cheese needed a bit more cheese but still good.best part was the price. Dinner for 2 was 29 and change.

REGRETting ordering 4 pieces of fried whiting, potato salad, collard greens via Grubhub. The serving size was smaller than what I’m accustomed to. The fish wasn’t seasoned. Neither was the breading. The collard greens had zero flavor. No meat, no onions, no garlic, no salt in them. The potato salad was decent.

I’ve ordered on Uber eats. The customer service was great. They sent the wing items and remade our order without hesitation. The woman that answered the phone sounded older and very compassionate. Their food is good also.
