I come here a lot, and really enjoy their chicken fried rice. Their orange chicken is really good too, but you can’t eat there without having an egg roll. Their egg rolls are the best I’ve ever had. Also, the people are very friendly, and nice to talk to. It’s also nice to call ahead of time and come pick it up, hot and ready. Definitely my number one choice for Chinese food.

I am very surprised at the 3.9 star rating on this Chinese Restaurant. We chose this restaurant because it was takeout, convenient to pick up on my way home from a long day. I had also picked it because of the ratings. Honestly, there isn’t anything good that I could say about the food here. We had quite the variety and nothing at all had much flavor. The sauces were thickened with so much, most likely, cornstarch that it was like a glob of gel. The crab Rangoon was chewy, not crispy and had little filling. The egg rolls were probably the best thing out of the meal and that’s not saying much. The noodle dish was so dry, my young daughter made a comment about it. Even the fortune cookies had a weird flavor. This is the first time that I had ever discarded so much food. We could not eat this food for leftovers another day. It was just not good. I really do not like giving negative reviews but this Chinese restaurant didn’t give me anything to work with.

China Star is the best Chinese joint you will ever find. I’ve been on both coasts and a lot of places in between, and you really can’t get any more delicious than this. Their egg rolls are TO DIE FOR, I’ve never had a better egg roll. They are positively stuffed with delicious cabbage, carrots, shrimp and pork, or if you’re a vegetarian, go for the veggie rolls- they’re even more scrumptious! You can literally close your eyes, point at anything, and it will be the BEST meal you’ve ever had. I promise you. Some of my favorites are the Hot Singapore, Szechuan Chicken, and Mongolian Beef. The quality of the ingredients really shines. The portions are generous (you will NEVER complain about not having enough of anything), the price is right ($8 for a HUGE plate of most of the entrees-the larges will all feed at least 2), and the vibe is always relaxed. The owner, Paul, is one of the best guys around. Do yourself a favor and go try your favorite Chinese dish here–I guarantee you’ll never eat at another Chinese place again without wishing it was China Star. 🙂

This is the closest Chinese restaurant to us, so my husband and I have made a game of trying to find things on the menu that are actually edible. I ordered fried rice once, and it was literally just rice that had been fried, No vegetables or anything else at all in it at all. The BBQ sauce has so much sugar in it, it makes the pork taste candied. One of my favorite things from Chinese takeout places is usually hot and sour soup, but because they put the BBQ pork in theirs, it tastes sickly sweet. Other dishes are just plain bland.

So far, we like the dumplings and the eggrolls. I haven’t found anything else on the menu I’d eat again.

Everything is fresh & tasty, with generous portions. Staff is super-nice and will take the time to explain a dish you’re not familiar with.

Our favorites include their deep fried chicken w/peapods and water chestnuts, fried rice, chicken w/garlic sauce and moo shu pork.

And their egg rolls? Simply the best in the area!

Shrimp fried rice was horrible no taste overcooked and clumped together. The best thing are the egg rolls. I could have stayed around to find something else that better suited my taste but the customer service at counter is terrible…. guy with the pig nose ring should not be taking orders at all.

Best Chinese Around..! Been going there for years… My daughter who now lives in Phoenix says it’s still the best she’s ever had and when she comes back to Indiana, I have to order from China Star… Best egg rolls EVER too and reasonable prices… Nice people…! 5 STARS

The food use to be very good, the young owner at counter use to be very nice, now you go in there he seems very tense and rude like he thinks the business is number one. I ordered a shrimp fried rice it was extremely lumpy and tasteless also with the egg rolls extremely salty and thrown together. It’s a shame because they use to be very good. I’ll s not the only restaurant in town. I’m done.

I’m sorry folks, being from Chicago this place did not meet my expectations. After two tries I’ve decided that this place just doesn’t cut it when it comes to good Chinese food. The fried rice is a blend of white rice and soy sauce. Their Mongolian beef was basically garlic and brown sauce. Egg Foo Young was meh. The only reason for the 2 stars is because the vegetable rolls were delicious.
