J’s Restaurant and Bar is the newest restaurant at Horseshoe Bay Resort. This trendy, upscale eatery features an eclectic menu of farm to table offerings alongside southern classics. It is a must-try dining experience of authentic hill country cuisine. The breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner menu are accompanied by a selection of refined Texas BBQ comprised of mouth-watering and slow-cooked Bad Donkey BBQ. Visited J’s for our anniversary and wanted a nice dinner and got a full 5-star experience. Our server Tejas was amazing and very receptive to my wife’s gluten allergy and was very knowledgeable on every single food item that was offered as gluten-free. We ordered the street chips and queso, and an amazing steak for dinner elevated with a delicious onion au-jus sauce that reminded me of when I visited Gordon Ramsays steak in Las Vegas but half the price. At the end of service we were delighted and surprised by the desert on the house to celebrate our anniversary. While we didn’t stay at the resort this time, we decided just based on the food service our next visit will be fully at the resort. One of those, shut up and take my money situations. This experience was so great, we decided to go back for dinner the next night to be treated by a delicious BBQ buffet with fall off the bone pork ribs, brisket and a wonderful fork tender bacon chicken with all the sides you can think of for just $39!! Treating my wife to a nice meal is very hard with her dietary restriction but this made it all worth it and made a very happy couple enjoy their small getaway weekend! Thank you to all!

My party dined at J’s for breakfast on a Saturday morning. While we were seated immediately, unfortunately we waited almost twenty minutes to have our drink orders taken, despite the restaurant being barely busy. On a better note though, once our orders were taken the food arrived promptly. I had the “Hill country Omelette” which consisted of brisket, sausage, and cheddar among other things. While the omelette itself was not very flavorful, a half chilli pepper on top, was excellent. Not too spicy, but just flavorful enough. The house potatoes were excellent. I’m sure that the service would be better in the evening, and the atmosphere is great too.

Conveniently located on the first floor of the main tower at the Horseshoe Bay Resort. The food is delicious and the drinks are great. They have a varied assortment of items on the menu and a huge selection of liquors for every taste. The staff are friendly and efficient. Shoutout to the bar staff – Susan, Holly, Krissy & Marshall and theie manager Trent. Try the Chicken Fried Steak, it’s the best in the area, made with a Ribeye! The Pecan Crusted Trout is delicious as well. Enjoy and Bon Appetit!!!

Burgers continue to shrink in size while prices go up! Burgers are getting closer in size to sliders and cost $20! We have been members for years! Come on Horse Shoe Bay Yacht Club……you can do better than this! It is better to be known for quality, good-sized burgers at a reasonable price versus the competition around Lake LBJ!

We had a great meal and as “Little J” promised us our burgers were medium rare the way we like them. I can’t remember the bartenders name but she was great too. She makes a tasty Bloody Mary. You feel at home right away. We will be back.

Great dining spot with attached bar and wine storage setup. Access from hotel tower is handy and restaurant provides ample breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Special mention to their home style potatoes in the breakfast meal.

My wife and I like to try different places in the area once in a while. Given the reviews we thought we’d give J’s a try. Didn’t realize it was in the resort hotel until we arrived. The staff were all amazing: attentive, friendly, prompt, and courteous.
The food looked amazing as well, but tasted meh, especially given the price which was twice what I would have expected. My side which was 3 pieces of bacon was $9. I was expecting a nice thick cut with a good flavor but it was along the lines of road side dinner quality.

Sipping drinks poolside (in the shade) was awesome. The cornbread was a meal in itself and the mezcal infused Hill Country Sunset cocktail was fantastic. They have a very attentive wait staff that was a pleasure to see.
