Excellent dining experience at Barnard Inn! The menu was creative and exciting with plenty of variation to meet all tastes and preferences. All three of my courses were absolutely delicious and I had two cocktails that were equally tasty.

The service here is next level- friendly, personable, and prompt. Our server was great about answering me and my partner’s questions and took genuine care in helping us select items we’d enjoy most. Our glasses were never empty and our server, as well as several other employees, checked in consistently to ensure that we were having an excellent experience.

I wish I lived closer so I could visit over and over again! Definitely recommend treating yourself to a dinner here if you’re in the area.

Fantastic experience overall. The hospitality was on par with higher end restaurants and the meals were outstanding. The portions were just right so you could easily enjoy a three course meal and not feel bad about eating too much. Great selection of drinks and great ingredients.

Great place to enjoy delicious food after Killington ski or snowboarding. They have hot fresh food and drinks available. Fillet mignon is $53 and it’s amazing. Home made food and very friendly stuff. Please spend 40 minutes drive from Killington and enjoy this amazing and very tasty Vermont food place.

Beautiful location, outdoor space, and gardens. Food very good – and hot when served – though a little salty and our steaks were overcooked. Vegetables cooked to perfection. Not a fan of automatic “service fee” (20%) Dinner was $150 – each – the service not as polished as one would expect. A table for two would have been appreciated (two of us were seated at a round table for four).

This was just an overall awful experience. The place itself was beautiful and the girl who filled our water was sweet but other than that there was no saving grace. To start, the meal for thanksgiving was $125 prefixe.. which if it were a beautiful sit down 5 course meal we would
have had no problem paying.. but it was a buffet. The food was average, but we actually had to ask the staff to refill the chafing dish with turkey, stuffing, etc. It was extremely dissapointing. On top of that, our server was so absent the entire meal she never even checked on us to ask how the meal was and that was after our cocktails took 20 minutes to be delivered. The final negative was the 20% service charge added on. This would have been okay at a restaurant where the service was exceptional and it was a plated meal, not a buffet. They warranted this charge with covid and giving employees a livable wage.. but we as a family of four felt that was outrageous for a buffet where we hardly received any service, and the service we did receive was awful. Our bill came to over $700 and our waitress didn’t even say goodbye or happy thanksgiving on our way out. If you have quality servers and are charging $125 per person for a prefixed meal, the tip should speak for itself. We will never return here, save yourself the money and the time.

“Amazing Burger” at the Barnard Inn Pop-Up!

I personally along with my sweet wife and confounding grandson, enjoyed an awesome surprise delight at the Barnard Inn pop-up restaurant last Sunday afternoon.
Outdoors with a backup spectacular garden, in the shade on a sunny afternoon, classic beer garden atmosphere, good music, nothing else needed. Contemplating far too long the envy anticipated by watching T and Bryce devour the 8 ounce cheese burger, I got one too but ordered the briquet philly cheese to share. Beer and wine to satisfy.
My wife pointed out why she has less trouble staying skinny as she showed her dainty bites compared the the little morsel I had left that I did have to put down but only once.
Chef Will, who runs the always reliable and delicious Inn, schedules the Pop Up only Sunday and Monday, 2-7.
Check times, the Inn is Thursday to Sunday.

Put this one on your list to experience when you get a chance.
Top Shelf.

I have been a customer at the Barnard Tavern for about 17 years. This restaurant was fantastic back in the day.
It is 2023, this restaurant has so many poor dinning choices I don’t know where to begin.

The hired service is very nice. The ownership service is dreadful.
The menu is very poor.
The atmosphere in the formal dining room is like dinning in your rich grandma’s house, but you hate being there. The tavern dining is fine .
Except if you eat those wonderful hand cut French fries and want to scoot to the bathroom to wash your hands , be aware that they have cut the bottle of Meyers soap with water so you really come out of the bathroom only 1/2 refreshed.

There are very few options for a nice meal in Barnard. Don’t waste $$$ on this place.
Grab a sandwich at the Barnard General Store and sit outside next to the lake.
Unfortunately, this place is so tapped out that they can’t even provide a Diet Coke.which I ordered… they found a can of Diet Pepsi and brought it to the table.
Going hungry is a better option than dinning here. Save yourself some frustration and money
Don’t visit this place.
