Great place for drinks after work. No food served here But you can have pizza delivered here if you really want to eat which is a great perk allowed by management.
Fairly priced in Downtown Boston and a bit of a hole in the wall.
Local to T-stations red, orange, and purple so this is a good place to catch up with co workers or friend in Boston.
The expresso Martini here is delightful and has right balance. (I like it with Baileys and it is avaliable)
The selection of whiskies is also top notch with a mix of high, mid, shelf selections.
They have also started chilling glasses which is a nice touch.

I am turning 60 and was in town for dinner and stopped in at this old haunt of mine from when I was 40 years younger and 40lbs lighter. This was the spot in the 1980s when I worked as a messenger. Yes, Boston streets were once full of bike messengers, hundreds of them. Most with offices on Broad street and more than two dozen places of employment around the city. Larger law firms employed there own. This place was packed with them most afternoons and on Thursday and Friday hundreds of bikes would be parked and chained outside the door as far as Atlantic Ave and up to Washington Street. I was twenty, they used to serve food. It seems they no longer do. My bartender was fairly grumpy not quite rude but the Guinness was fresh, cold and tasty and the pilner beer on tap inexpensive. The atmosphere is what you go for as it still has a classic Boston Winter Hill Gang kinda vibe you can’t just place from when Boston wasn’t so homogenized . If you are looking for smiling leprechaun like bartenders with rosy cheeks, a welcoming personality and classic Irish bar food try their other location JJ Foley’s Cafe up on Berkeley Street. This place is for your more hard core types looking only to rest their feet and wet their whistle.

Bartenders were real bostonians. Very attentive, quick. It’s definitely a locals dive bar, dimly lit. Got only one sour on tap but it was crisp and fruity. Standard bar food, surprisingly good dessert menu?! Got the boston cream pie. Very sweet. Good place to watch a game. Limited seats so come before the game starts!

A decent bar near Chinatown and the Commons. PBR on tap for $2 a pop. Ciders on tap for $6. Bottles of Corona for $6. Side salads cost $5, regular salads $9 or $10. Okay prices for the city, food wasn’t bad but wasn’t anything special either. Staff was friendly, the place gets crowded sometimes but has a lot of space. Cool interior, not handicap accessible.

Can’t evaluate the food since when we arrived at 2pm the bartender said, and I quote, “We don’t have food”. Not sure what all shouting was about this place.

I showed up at midnight and a miserable bouncer told me they were closed even though they said they closed at 2am online. Very disappointed especially since I was only in Boston for 2 nights

They do not have food!! Don’t let the “grille” part of their name fool you… Nice historical bar though.

Was my old watering hole 15 years ago. Watched Sox win 04′ series with friends and it hasn’t changed one bit (except they now carry Fiddlehead IPA!) Love this place. It is now the definition of nostalgia for me.

Looks like a pub, but no food served, although advertised as “Bar & Grille”. Somewhat disappointing.
