The food truly steals the spotlight. Every dish tastes like it was prepared with love and care, just like a hearty home-cooked meal. The flavors are well-balanced, authentic, and deeply satisfying. Whether you’re craving something savory, rich, or light and refreshing, Bếp Me Ỉn delivers beautifully crafted Vietnamese dishes that feel both nostalgic and comforting. The ingredients taste fresh, and you can tell that quality is a priority in every plate served.
Service is attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The staff are welcoming, patient, and always ready to recommend their signature dishes. Prices are also very reasonable for the portion sizes and quality offered.
Overall, Bếp Me Ỉn is a wonderful place to enjoy authentic Vietnamese cuisine in a warm and inviting setting. It’s definitely somewhere you’ll want to return to again and again.
Bếp Mẹ In offers a warm and homely taste of authentic Vietnamese cuisine, definitely feel like they came straight from a family kitchen.
Staff were friendly and welcoming, though the wait can be a little longer during peak hours or you can also get a reservation via their website, phone or going there, it is hidden gem at the back alley along with other restaurants. Is not easy to see from the street so go inside of the small street and you will find it.
We had the traditional bah mi and the meatballs one and was FABULOUS. We did not have a reservation so we had to wait around 10 minutes for a table, however was quick and easy to order and to eat. Cannot recommend more. You will love their food. MUST TRY their Banh mi
But the rice noodle was just fine.
Deducted a star from the service because I had to pay three different bills moving around three different restaurants next to each other.
It would be better if they could find a way to sum up the bill and have customers pay at once.
The Chả Giò Tôm Thịt was shockingly bad. We managed to eat only about 50% before giving up. It lacked flavor, balance, and any real satisfaction — something you can easily find at a random neighborhood eatery done much better.
The Cá Hú Kho Tộ was slightly more acceptable, but still mediocre at best. Honestly, I can find a version that tastes better at half the price without trying very hard.
The biggest disappointment was the Bún Chả Mẹ In. The meat was bland and forgettable, and the fish sauce — which should be the soul of the dish — failed to elevate anything. For a restaurant carrying Michelin recognition, serving tasteless grilled meat is quite astonishing.
Overall, this experience felt more like paying for a label than paying for quality. In a city full of incredible Vietnamese food, this was a very surprising letdown.
The grilled pork was the star—perfectly cooked with a nice char on the outside, juicy inside, and topped with fragrant green onions. Paired with fluffy white rice, a crispy sunny-side-up egg, and a light fish sauce with chili, every bite felt balanced and satisfying. The fresh vegetables on the side added a refreshing crunch that cut through the richness beautifully.
The second dish really stood out visually and in flavor: vibrant red rice served in a lotus leaf, aromatic and slightly sticky, with herbs and chili on top. The lotus leaf gave the rice a subtle fragrance that made it feel special and unique. It came with a fresh salad drizzled in a creamy dressing, which added a nice contrast to the savory rice.
Overall, the food was hearty, well-presented, and full of character. Generous portions, great textures, and that unmistakable Saigon comfort-food vibe. Definitely a meal I’d happily order again while exploring Ho Chi Minh City ❤️
The menu has a good variety of favourites, from hearty soups to classic rice dishes, and everything is presented beautifully without losing its rustic charm. Portion sizes are generous, and the ingredients taste fresh.
Service is friendly and welcoming, though the wait can be a little longer during peak hours. Prices are reasonable for the quality and atmosphere, making it a solid choice for anyone wanting a reliable Vietnamese meal in a cozy setting. As it is hidden at the back alley along rows of hair salons, you might missed it easily if you did not navigate via Google Maps.
A satisfying and authentic dining experience, definitely worth returning for more.
