We ended up at Thai Shelton Kitchen by default we had planned to go next door for dinner and unfortunately they were out of most of the selections we wanted. We didn’t feel up to going back to the drawing board so we just went to Thai Shelton Kitchen and we are soooo glad we did. We were greeted immediately by Rose. Originally we were planning to have take out but after placing the order and Rose excellent hospitality we decided to eat in. The restaurant is much bigger than it appeared from the outside and honestly so welcoming. My boyfriend wanted to watch Football and Rose went above and beyond trying to accommodate us. She managed the place well, from taking orders over the phone, waiting on us and the revolving door of pick up orders all while managing to keep a smile on her face. We could tell she really enjoyed what she did and we told her we could see how passionate she was about her job. We ho out to eat more than most probably 5 times out the week and we travel the world and I can’t recall the last time we had someone as genuine as Rose. Great service is hard to find. The food was delicious I has the Garlic Duck and my BF had the Tiger Tear Beef and he tried the Thai beer which was recommended by Rose, which he enjoyed. Both dishes were flavored very well, great portion size, fresh and the presentation was an extra bonus. We will definitely be back and highly recommend. We hope to see Rose when we go back because it was her great customer service, her ensuring we were satisfied, going above and beyond, friendly and pleasant demeanor that truly made it an exceptional experience. On the way out we waved to the cook and thanked him for preparing such a great dish.

One of the best Thai iced teas, wonderful dishes.
My duck was simply perfect, my husband’s yellow curry chicken was smooth and rich in taste.
The service was polite and attentive.

Everything was great the host was super sweet and attentive. The food felt like home. Almost as if you went to their house and their mom or grandma cooked an authentic Thai dish!
The Mataman Curry was out of this world giving that cozy feel when you have a bite.
Having the pineapple fried rice felt like I was the mouse in ratatouille who had the cheese and strawberry. Because I was able to enjoy the raisins, cashews, curry spice, and all the flavors in one rice. I added chicken which made it even more tasteful. It was a great combo of salty and sweet.

Delicious Thai food right in the center of Shelton. The staff was very helpful, very knowledgeable about the menu, and very prompt with their service. There was no difficulty making out the vegan/vegetarian options. They were happy to help me modify certain items as well. Where do I begin?!? 10/10 would recommend. We have eaten here multiple times now and have sampled a wide variety of the menu. The chili duck is outstanding! Perfectly cooked. Outstanding flavor. The Tiger Tear Beef, also outstanding, again the beef was perfectly cooked. The crab Rangoon are the best around and the chicken satay is delicious. The hot basil fried rice is a go to if I can’t decide what to try. As a bonus treat the Thai Iced Tea is so yummy. To sum it up, fresh and flavorful every time!

Found my way into this place one evening with my family looking for a bite to eat. We all left happy and full! Now when I’m in the area I stop in for takeout! Owner and staff are very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxing and ambient. The food is phenomenal, made fresh and in a timely manner, so much flavor and you can tell that the chefs put love into their dishes! Definitely the best Thai food in the area if not the whole state. So if you like Thai give them a try! You won’t be disappointed.

I will sing praises of this restaurant from now on! I was pleasantly surprised to find such amazing food in Shelton. And after seeing how great the food was, I was upset to see it was very quiet inside. We were the first customers around 6:00pm on a Wednesday. That may be the reason, but even so, hopefully this review convinces people to try this place out.
This is hands down the best Thai food I’ve had in a long time. Everything was so fresh and delicious. My compliments to the chefs in the back. Next time I’ll stay a little longer to get their story, but they clearly know what they’re doing.
The winners for us were the Tom Kha and the chicken pad tai. Seriously, I finally found the best Tom Kha around. I would live off that soup if I could. The pad tai was so incredibly fresh and flavorful. The gyoza was great but next time we’ll get it pan seared instead of steamed. My boyfriend got the kimchi rice. He said the flavor was great, a little kick to it; exactly what he’d expect from kimchi rice.
I know the area/location may be disheartening but please do yourself a favor and try this place. Once you step inside, it’s a whole different world. You would never guess something as good as thing is in downtown Shelton.

I just adore this place. At this point I’ve tried almost everything on the menu, and all of it is incredible. I come here multiple times a week. The atmosphere is amazingly peaceful and romantic, and it is always impeccably clean. The people who own it & the chefs are the kindest people you will ever meet. If you haven’t been here, you don’t know what you’re missing!!! An absolute gem in Connecticut.
I highly recommend the Thai tea, ANY of the entrees (they are all delicious), and most importantly, the crab rangoons and curry puffs.
Dessert is amazing too. Love the mango sticky rice with coconut. The honey banana is delicious as well!
