Holy smokes this place is worth the stop!! Beignet fries are amazing! Boudin balls are amazing, po boys and even the hamburger. We have five sons and everyone of them found an incredible meal. And don’t forget the owner, I didn’t get her name but she is as nice as could be! Perfect adventure!

Great place for real food. I enjoyed my fried green tomatoes and oysters. Poboys are a meal. Open on Sunday and no lines. Serve is busy but honest.

This is a BEAUTIFUL restaurant with a wonderful hostess! She offered us samples of the gumbo and the crayfish bisque. Both were outstanding, but the bisque was especially splendid. It was flavorful and made with succulent crayfish. My husband ordered the bisque and grilled shrimp. The hefty portion of large shrimp was delicious. I ordered fried oysters and onion rings. The fried oysters were made exactly the way my grandmother made them. This is high praise. The onion rings were excellent. It was wonderful to take our time in this pretty restaurant with fantastic food and enjoy ourselves. The hostess was so very congenial…. and rightly proud of the food! If you happen to be anywhere near this restaurant, you ought to stop and eat here. And say, “yes” to the samples when you are asked. Service was prompt, but i would have gladly waited a long time given the great meal we had. This is a GEM of a place!

We stopped here on our way to New Orleans and the food and service were excellent! Our favorite items were the crab poppers, which were like little crab cakes, the gumbo which was simple with small shrimp but had an awesome, somewhat spicy taste, a very generous 6″ shrimp poboy with melt in your mouth bread, incredible sweet potato fries and sweet tea like mom makes. Tasha and Rita took great care of us. Southern hospitality at it’s best. We’ll definitely be back!

Super sweet server. My husband and I are vegetarians, so it is not really easy to find something we can eat in a privately owned restaurant, but they were very willing to make a salad without meat. We also had fried green tomatoes, one of my favorites, but the batter fried sweet potatoes were the best! Great experience.

The fried oysters were way overcooked, so much so that the batter was hard to crunch and tasted like old grease. I told the lady at the counter that and I think she got offended, she said that if you order them lightly cooked they will cook them that way. Anybody that grew up on the coast will tell you oysters are NOT supposed to be fried hard as a rock. The bisque was ok although it’s made with Asian crayfish. Louisiana crayfish are purged before they are cooked and packaged Asian crayfish are not and these still had that muddy taste to them. Serving overcooked oysters by thierself in a plastic basket with no sides turned the perfect atmosphere into a tourist trap atmosphere. This is a beautiful place in a really good spot, if you get offended and try to justify what’s wrong instead of learning and trying to correct what’s wrong then you are destined to fail. I always try a place twice before I write them off but I don’t know about this place.

Great food! Great taste! Don’t like that you have to purchase sides separately. Other than that great menu. Authentic New Orleans style cuisine. Will be eating there again!!

Service was amazing, food was great. We got the fried green tomatoes, each of the cups of sides (gumbo, red beans and rice, bisque, and etouffee), philly steak poboy, fried shrimp and catfish, hush puppies, crab puffs, and fried oysters. It was all so good. My toddler destroyed the whole cup of red beans and rice by herself.
