The sushi is amazing and the bento boxes reasons are more than filing. We ordered the Mango roll and a bento box and we had enough for the next day.
The service is friendly and even though it felt a big understaffed (it seemed busy for a Monday night).

Hibachi service. So I checked this place out since it is around the corner from where I live. Took my wife and Mom for her 85th birthday dinner. We went early like 3 PM. We don’t eat Sushi so have no interest. We had the steak and fish dinners by a very entertaining cook. He was very talented and the food was excellent. I see a few reviews around that don’t like this place but in our experience here… it was 5 stars and yes we will go again. To top it off, after we were done eating, they presented Mom with Ice cream and a candle for her birthday. They must have overheard us saying happy birthday to her. We did not request it. Free and a very nice gesture by them.

Amazing place. Great atmosphere. The green hills shopping center in St. James is a great place to stop by and get all sorts of things. This sushi place has great rolls, very fresh sushi, everyone there is friendly and works hard and the owner is a great guy. And final reason it gets 5 stars is because the price is not rediculous. Price is affordable for anyone who wants to have lunch or dinner no problem.

Really good sushi/sashimi. Great cooked entrees. Excellent service – everyone was SO nice and friendly. Really kind to our daughter (who is slightly terrified of hibachi tables)! Definitely found our new sushi spot.

This place is not worth the hassle. Before coming in to order I checked the online menu to check prices on their website. I was charged $10 more than what I should have. When I looked at the receipt they charged $0.50 more per roll and added a $7 fee to add cucumber. The older woman who rang me up immediately walked away, so I had to call someone else over. Both of them said the online prices were different, and I had to order online to get those prices. The menu online said the roll would cost $3.50, but they tried to charge $4 a roll plus a $7 fee. Why would I pay $5 for a cucumber avocado roll if that’s what they charge for cucumber shrimp? They offered to give a store credit, but they wanted to just write my name and number on a piece of scrap paper. I didn’t leave after being given my food and the younger woman that tried helping told a manager about the issue; he told both women to refund me the amount. When she tried to hand me back $7 in cash the older one put the money back in the register and said it needed to go on my card or a store credit. I was really excited to get sushi, but this ruined it.
Check to make sure you are being charged right. I had to ask for a receipt, and I never would have realized if I hadn’t.

We have been dining at Akira for years and have loved it every time. Under the recent new management the food quality and taste has greatly declined. The servers are great but it was obvious they were under-staffed. My husband says he will not be going back.

Food is decently priced and tasted ok, had hibachi flounder and was well proportioned. The greeting and atmosphere could use work. Upon arrival, the waitress was sitting down watching tv with one of the cooks. I had called for a hibachi reservation, but was seated away from the hibachi area. As I said, the food was ok, but the only real entertainment was watching the news while eating with a friend.

Absolutely horrendous place to order from over the phone. They needed me to repeat my order 5 times, read the order back to me twice, still managed to get my order wrong. I called in to have the order corrected and was hung up on twice, the third call back they ignored my number. I called from a different number and they answered and said they would send someone with my corrected order..45 minutes later and no food yet. So I call again and they offered a credit (which I declined because I wanted the food I paid for) they once again insisted they would send the order back. 5 minutes later they called me back and hung up and is now ignoring my calls. Never received the correct order. Absolutely ridiculous!
