Although end of an era from KFC across the street, here comes Raising Cane’s as the latest addition to Poway. It’s not exactly fried chicken but boneless chicken tenders.
It’s a chain and there are several locations in San Diego. It was my first time and I didn’t know what to expect.
Drive thru and dining in was busy from grand opening week. They had no shortage of staff and they were available both inside and outside. They were all around high school/college age but very professional and polite.
I ordered The Caniac Combo. The combo came w 6 chicken fingers, crinkle cut fries, Texas toast, slaw, two sauces and drink for $18.79.
I was really impressed at the quality, size, juiciness and crunchiness. The combo was priced right and I think I’m hooked!

Five stars all day. The food was amazing as always restaurant was super clean including the bathroom. My six-year-old spilled a drink outside and the staff was so friendly and made him feel OK about spilling his drink. I wish I would’ve got his name but he told my son it’s basically just water and it’s hot outside so it’s gonna dry in a minute.

An amazing first experience at Raising Canes, we’re from Australia so this was our first time having the food. We were served by Ethan he was an amazing guy, checking on everybody and once he heard we were from Australia. He gave us a Raising Canes gift bag and took a picture of my family. Amazing place if you’re hungry and want a place to eat come here.

Swung by today to grab something to eat and I wasn’t disappointed. As always the food was good, just as I remembered. Even though the restrooms are locked with a code, they’re well-maintained and nice, and spacious. Service was good too

Cane is a vibe and a great place but its lacking in stars for me because a few times now ive gotten the tiniest chicken strips that weren’t great because it was more breading than chicken. This hasn’t happened everytime but at least 3 separate occasions. The bread is fantastic and the service is usually pretty good. They just need better quality checks on the chicken strips sometimes.

Genuinely better than the one in Mira Mesa! The staff actually clean throughly here (the floor, seats, tables are clean). The food is great as ever, but this time the fries were a bit salty in my opinion. Staff were nice, greeted us, checked up on us, and wished us a good rest of the day. It was loud but also pleasant for us to hear others.
Overall a good experience, definitely recommend!

There’s a lot of hype around the chicken here, so I had to check it out. I’ve been a couple of times, and unfortunately, I just haven’t been impressed. The menu is extremely limited, it’s essentially only chicken. No different styles or preparations, just chicken on bread or chicken without bread. Very basic.
The chicken itself isn’t particularly flavorful, it tastes like plain breaded chicken. I was expecting something more bold or memorable given the buzz. If you enjoy simple chicken strips with fries and that’s all you’re looking for, this place is fine.
For me, it was just underwhelming, and I don’t feel a strong need to come back. Honestly, I find El Pollo Loco’s chicken to be more flavorful. Just my two cents.

Very surprised to see a canes not have great service…I loved the one in Escondido and recently moved to poway and was so excited for the opening. We unfortunately waited awhile in line and employees weren’t super friendly which I can look past, but as soon as I started eating I bit into the chicken and it had a long dark hair stuck inside the chicken. Very disappointed to not be able to finish my food.

Visited Poway brunch on 31st, Ethan was awesome and provided excellent service. He gave a gift pack to my kids after we told him that we are visiting from Australia. It shows how he cares about customer satisfaction and his job, great food and experience.
