The fries are a must—crispy, golden perfection! Cozy and comfortable bar with a welcoming vibe. Great spot to unwind, and I’ll definitely be back.

Nice bar in the area open for happy hour and for drinks. Was visiting and met up with a friend for dinner. We went here during happy hour before our dinner reservations and got a round of drinks and fries. They have a wide variety drinks and options, a honey menu and all of the classics. I enjoyed their Espressotini,
Positive effect, and their hot toddy. Nice little bar and I really enjoyed the music they played. The bathroom lights are pretty bright. There’s some street parking and some lots nearby.

The sidecar is exactly like what you might thing. A long, slender, shotgun style addition to The Tap.

Very cozy.

Nice bar.

Clean bathrooms.

Ample street parking parking after 5pm.

I went on trivia night, and there were many teams playing. They have a two plate turn table where you can have your own records played during trivia. The sound system is ample, and not booming, quite good actually.

The cocktails are great, ample amounts of alcohol, good ice ratio. The whiskey cocktail came with a square ice cube which looked and functioned nicely.

I chatted with a friend for about two hours, without my voice going horse so that was great.

The food menu looked tasty as well, but I didn’t try anything.

Beautiful dimly lit setting with background music; speakeasy feel. Classy speakeasy drinks on the menu plus a plenty of unique ones. Rotating sours and barrel aged beer: service was decent. No complaints. They do have a small menu which I posted a picture of and the burger was delicious.

I highly recommend this amazing place!!We got to sit at the two cozy lounge chairs in front of the bookcase. Molly, our server was perfection, very friendly, checked in on us just the right amount, recommended wonderful drinks (all were fabulous)!!
My last white drink in the tall glass with the cherry was heaven!! We enjoyed the tomatoe/cheese appetizer with bread. It would be even better will grill sourdough bread instead is the soft bun served with it.
I’m looking forward to going back and enjoying all their delicious looking food!
And I’m going to bring my kids to The Tap also, their burger looks great and is $11. This was such a fun find!! Yay!

The Sidecar offers something awesome that south Minneapolis has lacked so far too long. Amazing cocktails in a wonderful space.

Between Town Hall Tap and The Parkway Theater, The Sidecar is a relaxed lounge that offers delicious drink action, along with wine, spirits, and craft beer from the best brewpub in town (Town Hall Brewery).

The cocktail menu offers great variety, with classics, their own options, a whole page of honey hyped (changing seasonal selection and each of those using a different type of honey) to a great red and white wine list, along with Town Hall beers and other beverages.

They do have a few but great food options. Fries, an amazing burger, sliders, and a couple other choices. Perfect for a cocktail bar.

The space is so cool. Laid back, modern but vintage. So comfortable, warm and welcoming. The space is great and the staff are awesome. They’re happy to serve up anything you like or put a spin on something you’d like to explore.

The Sidecar is an awesome new addition to the south Minneapolis area. Spectacular cocktail action in a great spot. Check it out.

Why did the bartenders both look miserable and aloof? Killed the whole vibe of the whole bar, which could be cool but instead was a boring dry miseraby depressed vibe. It was as if they were mad to be there working. Took forever for someone right there to say something, then you order and they walk away and make your drink. 2/21/26

Really great bar and restaurant in South Mpls giving you neighborhood first date, or relaxed gathering spot. Small menu, but dont let that sway you from going. Affordable spirits and cocktails, food can be a stretch dollarwise, but you got to go to understand ! Trust me. YOU MUST GET THE TENDERLOIN SLIDERS!

Stopped into The Sidecar before a show at the Parkway Theater and it was a perfect pre-show spot. The cheese curds and burger were both fantastic, and my cocktail was excellent. Only downside is the street parking, but overall, it was a great place to go before a show!

The Sidecar at the Tap is the cocktail bar Field Regina Northrop has been missing. With twenty unique cocktails, beer, wine, and a just-right sized food menu, there’s something for everyone, and it all tastes delicious.

The establishment is beautifully decorated and has multiple seating arrangements from bars along several walls to a lounging couch and regular tables. I’ve tried four different cocktails and have particularly enjoyed the Pariso and Thin Ricky. Additionally, I have ordered the tenderloin sliders and Bolognese dishes both times and will likely continue to do so at every visit – they are superb.

Please give this spot a try and make sure it becomes what it deserves.
