I visited Roadside because I only wanted some baked beans and potato salad. They were out of potato salad, so I got baked beans and a “leg quarter.” I can’t believe they actually sold me these small pieces of chicken. However, the baked beans AND chicken were very tasty!

Been to this hole in the wall twice and can guarantee a third. Nice friendly service. And damn solid ribs and dying to try the chicken. The rib sandwich was stellar, and the rib plate was really tasty. And the macaroni salad was delicious. If your ever near Eastlake, definitely give this place a go. Ribs and chicken is what the specialize in here. No brisket or pulled pork. But that didn’t bother me in the least. Just good eatin.

I had the rib plate, it taste exactly how i remembered! I really enjoyed the pasta salad its the best!!! Im still a Full Moon girl lol, but Roadside is my number 2 barbq joint, and yes I almost forgot to take a picture before eating a bone I went back a week later and had the knuckles with coleslaw and pasta salad, i went to Mcdonald’s and order a fry because this was just screaming fries!!!! Try it you will love it

Cash only!!! Ribs were tender and well seasoned. Their chicken is good too but I’m the biggest fan of their sides. Try the potato salad, baked beans and collards with a muffin. Oh my goodness!

I hadn’t been here in years because of a custimer service issue. We tried it again and the food was great. The ribs were cooked and flavored to perfection, so was the chicken. The sides were tasty as well. There are several big name rib joints here in Birmingham that i find average at best. In My opinion they have the best Barbeque in Town!

If you want flashy, go somewhere else and pay a lot more for things a lot less memorable, and certainly less tasty. Rodney is a true pit master, dedicated to his craft. It is a simple menu, consistently done with excellence, and served up with a smile and grateful appreciation. Been a fan for years, and hope to enjoy Roadside for many years to come. It is an East Lake fixture.
