my husband & i ate here for the first time today right at opening (2pm in a Saturday) & we both ordered the fish & chips, along with a order of onion rings as an appetizer. blown away doesn’t describe our experience! our waitress was so friendly & nice to not only us but our 1.5 year old daughter.
all of our food was literally steaming hot when it arrived. i added malt vinegar to my fish & it was SIZZLING the food was so fresh! not to mention we had all the food incredibly quick! we have been searching for a perfect beer battered fish & chips option & boy did we find it!!! the batter was so crispy yet soft. it was PERFECT.
by far the BEST food we have had in such a long time, the atmosphere was very pub oriented yet cozy. we cannot wait to go back!!

My wife got the portobello avacado sandwich pictured above, the portobello was thin. The gouda macaroni and cheese was pretty good.
I got the Big B Burger and asked for it medium rare more towards the rare side and below is what I got. This was another disappointment that I brought to the servers attention he apologized for the burger but didn’t offer to bring me a new one, that’s another place where they missed the mark. I’ll try them again next time we’re here, like I said they just opened and I’m sure they are going through some growing pains!

So lovely! The wait staff was so friendly and helpful. The fish was great and the fries and cheese on the poutine was great. Though, I think next time I might order it with extra gravy for personal preference. I asked them to make a mocktail for me and it was so good! The only thing I see room for improvement is, I hope they someday can move into a larger location. But the atmosphere for what space they do have, was well done.

The food is excellent. Sarah and Phay’s service is wonderful; they take time to know their payrons. They offer a full bar and select, regional draft beer on tap.
The menu selection is limited, but what they serve is wonderfully prepared. The Cajun Shrimp is my favorite. We often carry out as well.

Sat at the bar and enjoyed onion ring basket and some beers. Happy hour is one of the best in town with half off apps and beer/wine/liquor specials.

Fantastic Cozy restaurant in New London. They hit all the marks just right between pricing and portion sizes. You definitely will not leave hungry!
From Fresh Battered English Style fish and chips (with cod) to the fresh hand pattied burgers in house. The food is well thought out and executed.
Gunny’s quietly has one of the most incredible Bourbon Selections I have seen. Lots of hard to find Bourbons there.
They have a very impressive selection of Craft Beers as well!
Don’t sleep on Gunny’s in New London! Truly a gem of a restaurant.

I had no idea about Gunny’s, but I’m so glad we found them. I feel like it is one of those ‘hole in the wall’ gems. The environment is very cozy and is a lot like a good ole’ sports bar. When we arrived, it was packed! They offer many local brews that we thoroughly enjoyed. We loved the mango habanero fritters. I have never had anything like it! Can’t wait to bring more friends here.
