Bird Dog Baking is always a wonderful experience. Their atmosphere is very welcoming and their breads and pastries are always fresh with a great variety. I went this morning on a whim and wanted to give a special shout out to their Maple Rosemary Latte – geniuinely one of the best lattes I have ever had!!! I hope they keep it around or bring it back if it’s a limited time flavor, it’s truly incredible and so smooth. Can’t recommend Bird Dog enough!

From the moment I walked in, I was absolutely captivated — the aroma of fresh, perfectly baked goods filled the air and immediately set the tone for an unforgettable experience. It was like stepping into bakery heaven.

Every single person working there went out of their way to make sure my visit was special. They literally took care of my every whim and need, answering questions with genuine warmth, offering thoughtful recommendations, and ensuring I felt welcomed from start to finish.

The quality and care that goes into every loaf, pastry, and treat is obvious — you can tell they use top-notch ingredients and artisanal techniques to create baked goods that aren’t just delicious but truly memorable. Their bread has incredible texture and flavor, and everything I tried was fresh, satisfying, and simply delightful.

This place isn’t just a bakery — it’s a destination. If you’re looking for exceptional quality, unbeatable service, and an atmosphere that makes you smile the moment you walk in, this is it. I can’t wait to come back!

One of my neighbors told me I should come here and get some bread and butter, so I decided to check it out. I took the express line bus from Ann Arbor to the spot in Ypsilanti. Bird dog baking is a short walk from the bus stop. Coincidentally the day I decided to visit my neighbor ended up showing up and was a couple of people behind me in line. The line wasn’t long and I ordered the bread and butter, which was delicious. I also noticed their pastry case had some of my favorites from other places, I visit in the metro Ann Arbor area that apparently contract with the bakery. Definitely worth a visit.

Bird Dog Baking is a gem! From the light-filled space to the delicious coffee to the adorable branding, the love that goes into this space is palpable. The owners’ commitment to local grains and the art of baking results in unique, delicious baked goods that you won’t find elsewhere. The warm sourdough with butter (and some flaky salt) is magical and the rye snack cake is simply perfect.

Sunday brunch! So tasty with great flavors, friendly service, and warm vibes throughout. Ride your bike for the perfect destination ride (just need to have more local bike racks).

Bird Dog Baking offers fantastic baked goods and a great atmosphere—definitely one of my favorite spots. The quality and flavor of everything I’ve tried have been top-notch, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming.

That said, the last couple of times I’ve been there, there was a man outside near the entrance who seemed to be in clear mental distress, loudly screaming and causing visible discomfort for several people around. At one point, it almost escalated to a physical altercation. While this was unsettling, it’s important to note that it’s not a reflection on Bird Dog Baking itself, but rather a difficult situation happening nearby.

Despite that, the bakery remains a great place for delicious treats and I’ll keep coming back. I hope the community can find ways to support those in need and keep the area safe for everyone.

I love healthy locally baked sourdough bread. This is the best thing happening to Ypsi’s downtown. Try their baked goods; they are original and delicious. They serve Hyperion coffee btw.

I picked up a Sesame Bread at Argus Farmstand in Ann Arbor, DELICIOUS!!! Great crust, well baked with a rich, filling flavor on it’s own, even better toasted with hummus or some vegan butter! Next time I’m in Town, I’ll check out the bakery and hopefully baguettes.
