I’ve been waiting to go to Desi Diner for half a year at this point but, for Valentine’s Day, I finally decided that I would treat myself to this restaurant. It didn’t disappoint!
For my dinner tonight, I bought mango lassi for $5 and lamb vindaloo for $19. I’ll start with my review of the mango lassi first. I’ve been wanting to try mango lassi for a LONG time now, so imagine my pleasant surprise when they filled my cup up to the very top with it. It was so thick and tasty! My one complaint with it was that it wasn’t served very chilled so it had a kind of… unexpected aftertaste? Overall, still very good!
Onto the lamb vindaloo now. Lamb vindaloo is my favorite Indian dish of all time so I knew I had to buy it here. It was great! The meat was very tender and the potatoes were savory and soft, with abundant spices and a thick curry. It was served with basmati rice (although naan was another option), which was also quite good. The textures of both the vindaloo and the rice were on point, especially when combined.
I ended up with about 2/5 of my meal as leftovers— you get your money’s worth with the portion sizes here since I basically paid for two meals. Speaking of money, the pricing was unaffordable for me but probably fair to the average person. I wouldn’t know. As a broke college student who generally can not afford to eat out, will I go here again? Hopefully. Maybe. Do I want to go here again? ABSOLUTELY! Next time, I want to try their beef or lamb palak.

We got the chicken Korma and Garlic naan bread. It was amazing food and good portions! Indian food was new to me but this was amazing and will be coming back!

This is not even good for a take out place. We ate in and served on paper plates and plastic cups. Its almost like a coffee shop shop. Service was very slow 30 min. for a group of 4. The Naan seemed to be frozen and reheated, it was not good. We will not be going back.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner during Northfield Winter Walk and both the food and service were fantastic! Thanks Noor for suggesting the chicken makhani (house special ) it was absolutely delicious.

Ordered takeout and was pleasantly surprised. There was a wait time, but it was also a very busy Friday night so I can’t blame them.

Amazing tasty food and really nice staff! I left something there and they were really nice about hanging into it for me. I got the vegetable dhansak and the blend of spices was so delicious and the potatoes were so perfect. Great restaurant!!
