I can’t believe some of these reviews. That is just pure sabotage. Longbranch is one of my favorite food stops on Metcalf. The staff is helpful and quick, and the food is always on point. I have never had anything that I didn’t like there. No, I’m not a shill. I was just looking up their menu when I noticed that some unnamed google user(s) must have spent their whole night angrily writing negative reviews, so I took it upon myself to try and set the record straight.
Is the bar “empty”? During the day, sometimes pretty close. I personally prefer a spot where I can quietly relax and drink a beer and enjoy a good burger without hearing the rabble of screaming toddlers being chased by their mothers through the restaurant/bar. For that, go to Applebees. I’ve never been there after 6pm, but I’ve seen the crowd pick up quite a bit around that time and I imagine they do pretty well even later.
Is the food “terrible”, or ‘worse than the napkin’ as one reviewer suggested? … no. I think whoever wrote that should go live on webcam and eat a stack of napkins. The food is great. Seriously. Surprisingly great. Their Country fried steak is amazing. The tacos are…well, tacos. I don’t have to describe them, but they are plentiful, cheap, and go great with a draft beer. The burgers are fantastic. I don’t say fantastic very often, but I just said it out loud in reference to their burgers. They are awesome, add bacon or sauteed onions, or both.
Anyway, everyone I’ve brought in has enjoyed it and commented on how much they enjoyed the food. I don’t want to hype it up too much, but if you’re a regular person, and not a foodie critic expecting your meal to be garnished with black truffle, then I think you’ll appreciate it. It’s a good place for a meeting during the day, or a quick lunch stop. They have daily food and drink specials, and a friendly staff. I’ve posted this with my name publicly visible, unlike the coward that bombarded their review section a few years ago.

I go here up to 3 nights a week for the specials, love the buck tacos, nice juicy burgers. It’s hard to memorize all the waitstaff, I like it when my order is known and it comes out right. It’s kinda like your barber knows your haircut and verifies then gets right to it.

Crappy service!! There was one waitress Lynn that was very helpful- had to even tell the bartender to get me a drink. Then I got charged over $40 when my tab was only $16.71. Crappy bartenders!!!!! Maybe they should pull their head out of the men’s asses and pay attention to customers in general.

I’ve visited this place for many years. Great food and atmosphere. An old friend who isn’t with us anymore worked here but the other staff has been equally as impressive as him, including a new bartender that was very nice and attentive.
