Excellent food and great service, we really enjoyed our dinner here. Signature duck dish is very good and highly recommended. Duck pate appetizer was very tasty. Risotto was top-notch as well. The service was reasonably fast and attentive. In other news, I lost my (currently favorite) hat (and I didn’t even drink that much wine – I think), but I called the restaurant and recovered it the next day, to my great relief.

A charming place nestled in the town of Pacific Grove. Chef Jerry brings his creativity to the table with French inspired cuisine. Starting with Duck Liver Paté which was whipped to mousse like consistency. Entrees were Duck breast over polenta and Lamb shoulder with gnocchi. The Lamb was tender, and the accompaniments unified the flavors beautifully. The Duck Breast was perfectly done to medium rare, tender and juicy.
Anson recommended a bottle of Cotes du Rhone which paired very nicely with all 3 dishes.
Avery was sweet and attentive, making sure our glasses were never empty. On her recommendation, we shared Pot de Creme for dessert, which was absolutely delicious.
To top it off, the restaurant is dog friendly, which is a nice plus.
We can’t wait to go back for more.

The staff was friendly, professional, and attentive. The food was fantastic. I’ve never had better tomato bisque, the scallops were perfectly cooked, and the Meyer lemon desert was packed with berries. Well done Spotted Duck.

I recommend this restaurant to everyone who has a stopping by on this small town. We had dinner last night, ordered an oyster dish as a starter; duck breast and cod as main dishes. All of them are great! The service is friendly and good. Much better food than we had in San Francisco!

Had the most delicious dinner here. Truly elevated food. At first from the outside the restaurant looks pretty ordinary but the food-wow! Probably some of the best French food I’ve had. Each dish had something special and subtle a true foodie would appreciate. The menu and food feels created by a passionate and talented chef. We recommend the pate, asparagus soup, and duck breast.

The food there was AMAZING. Definitely the best food I have ever had in the US so far. Everything we tasted was delicious, a bit too salty for me but that this only thing that I can « complain » about. My dish, the caramelized sea scallops were divine. My husband had the duck breast and he couldn’t stop saying how good it was. We even asked bread to finish the sauce (French people you know). Before that we shared the spotted duck cheese fries, a sort of duck poutine and it was really really good too. For dessert I got the polenta pudding cake and it was surprisingly delicious. Not too sweet, the cake texture was perfect, the caramelized pears were perfect too,… He got the chocolate dessert and he devoured it.
The service was amazing too and we loved the atmosphere, kind of modern but not too much, same vibe as the food I would say. The chef is the owner of the restaurant and you can tell that he is putting is heart out on everything he is making. Thank you for the beautiful surprise and we’ll be back next time we have some time in the area!

Spotted Duck is a fantastic addition to the local dining scene. From the moment we arrived, everything was spot on. The service was warm and attentive, the food was creative and beautifully presented, and the atmosphere was both comfortable and stylish.
Every course impressed us with its flavor and attention to detail. We had a great table and truly enjoyed the entire evening. It’s rare to find a restaurant that delivers on every level, but Spotted Duck does. We can’t wait to return and have already added it to our short list of favorites in Pacific Grove.

As a group we shared multiple dishes, allowing to taste so many wonderful things.
The duck was perfect, the tomato and cheese tastes like Sumer exploded in my mouth. The French poutine, could teach the Canadians a thing or two. The scallops were fresh and melted in my mouth. The Affogato was creamy and did not keep me up all night

Amazing food! One of the few times when I had a “life changing” food experience. The duck was literally out of this world. Mussels were the best I ever had. Chicken meatballs was a first and tasty. Pot de creme was light and good.
I would order the duck and mussels again in a heartbeat and am excited to visit the next time I’m in town. Big thanks to the incredible chef for his talent. Eating the duck dish gave me that same feeling that the food critic from Ratatouille had when he ate Remi’s food… I can’t explain it any other way.
If this place was located in LA, it would have a long waitlist. I still can’t believe how delicious that meal was. All of the ingredients had intention and were well respected.

Stopped by for a late dinner and enjoyed the potato gnocchi with braised lamb along with their special a Maine lobster and scallop bolognese. We finished our dinner with dessert which was a lovely basil and peach sorbet. The layers of flavor from each dish were incredible!
