The food was good, the prices weren’t bad for the quality and portion size. Everything is made in house, which is nice. The server could’ve been a bit more attentive, no big deal. My only complaint is charging $3 for drinks (soda, tea, etc.) for adults and KIDS. That seems a bit steep to me, at that price it should at least be listed on the menu so the customer could make an informed decision prior to ordering, especially for the kids. Aside from the drink prices we had a good experience and enjoyed our meal.

We elected to try this new restaurant for our 52nd wedding anniversary. We arrived at approx. 4:50pm and we were seated at approx. 5:15 pm. There were numerous tables available when we arrived but we were told by the two adolescents at the hostess desk that they were unable to seat us immediately because not all the wait staff had arrived. One mature waitress offered to serve additional tables but the two youngsters were unable to multitask or deviate from the script. Once seated our waitress, Joan, was prompt and attentive. We ordered quickly and then waited more than 45 minutes for the food to arrive. Joan advised that the kitchen was backed up due to higher than expected demand. When the food arrived, my wife’s meal was cooked to order but mine was overcooked. Not to the point of being inedible but dryer than it should have been. Taste and portion was satisfactory. The front dining room was hot even with fans running on high. It appears that proximity to the kitchen is the problem. I recommend that, should you choose to eat here, you request a table near the back. Although it will be a while before I return, I give them some leeway for being new. They need to further train their staff and cool the front dining room. Also be aware that if you need to travel north from the restaurant you can not legally turn left out of the parking lot.

5p Thursday. Ordered sirloin. They were out. Ordered loin burger topped with onion rings. Wedge salad and water. No wait but busy. Atmosphere was definitely a local restaurant. Comfortable and clean. Bread is sour dough. Would have loved for it to have been toasted more but had great flavor with butter. Wedge salad was magazine worthy in appearance. House dressing was perfect. Unique. To table in less than 15 minutes. Meal came and presented will. There steak/burger was cooked perfectly. The sauce was a treat for me! Good on the steak but fantastic on the onion rings. Best onion rings I have had in years!!! Baked potato was good. I knew my waitress had to be new as she was not confident with the menu but it is a new restaurant. At the end she thanked me for being a great customer and being so nice as her first customer. She did not use her new status as an excuse. She did a great job. She was very attentive and pleasant. After a few days she will know the menu and be exceptional. Adriana you were a wonderful server. This meal was a very pleasant surprise. I will definitely be coming back and will highly recommend!! I love to support local businesses. They are off to a great start. (I do not know anyone involved with this restaurant so this is completely objective)

Server was very friendly. Fried pickles very good. Ordered medium hamburger, it was rare & I was a little unsafe eating. Ate some of it & took home, cooked a little more to eat. Decor was too dark for me. Hope they make enough money to replace the old tables & chairs. Will go back & try the tenderloin salad.

I am writing this review based on not the food but the facility itself as I did not end up eating there. The food may be fine but I didn’t make it that far. Unfortunately, it does not look like much of a budget was put on redoing the inside or outside of the building. The sidewalks and parking lot were pretty beat up and the decor on the inside looks old, almost like they reused a lot of what was left behind from the previous restaurant. While this was just the second night they were open, the biggest glaring problem I had with the place was evident when you walk into the front door…it was HOT. Either the air conditioning was not working or barely working at all and the only source of cooling seemed to be ceiling fans. They told us it was going to be about a 30 min wait. We thought about it but the more I stood there making a decision, the warmer I became. There was absolutely no way I was going to eat at a place that was miserably hot. I’m really disappointed that I didn’t get to eat there as it was exciting to finally have a steak restaurant in Wetumpka. I’m hoping that opportunity will arise again, but it’s safe to say that I just can’t bring myself to eat here until a reliable air conditioning unit is installed and they make an effort to do a little more with the interior and exterior decor.

Steak was very flavorful.
Employees need to be a little more friendly.
They appeared to be frowning unhappy except for our waitress Debra and 1 other older woman who was a waitress too.
Good food.

Very disappointed in this restaurant. My wife and I went there on a Wednesday night and based on the prices expected the food to be really good. I ordered an 8 oz.. filet which tasted like it had been marinated in balsamic vinegar. The most was tender, but the taste was terrible. My wife,Barbi, ordered the grilled snapper which was overcooked and inedible. With our tip, we left about $90 there.
Our server, Nancy was the only saving grace for this place as she was friendly and attentive, although she forgot to bring Barbi a to go cup for her drink.
I haven’t mentioned the building itself which was formerly a Chinese restaurant and then a Mexican eatery. It is dated from the 70’s, dreary and unimpressive.
I predict J.P’s will be closed within a few months. We won’t be returning.

Recently dine at JP’s with my wife and was not impressed. If you like seating in a warn out old Mexican Restaurant booth this may be your Steak House. I can get a better cut and grade of beef from Costco than what they serve here below choice. You are constantly interrupted by the waiters calling out “corner” so they don’t run into each other going in and out of the kitchen area. Don’t waste your money here, this is not a steak house more like a diner Huddle House may be better.

Excellent service, Nancy was fantastic! Menu options, wow. Had the scallops, chicken noodle soup, dont like carrots and I ate the entire bowl-carrots and all, ribeye cooked to perfection, homemade bread was great as was the homemade salad dressing. Portion size was great, was so full but could not stop eating! Definitely recommend. We will be back.

I really wanted to like it… but… the rolls were terrible! Hard & doughy in the middle with no taste. Couldn’t even cut one w a knife. The crab cakes were good, but nothing special. I ordered prime rib, medium, & it made so much blood on my plate I asked the server to take it back to be cooked some more! After cooking it more, it was still bloody. Couldn’t eat it. The wine & baked potato were very good. The atmosphere was ok. Nothing special. The service was good. I may give them one more try but that’s all. A little pricey to not have their act together.
