In October of 2024, Cindy and Mike Gray launched Moe Fatz Orange Cat Cafe, offering a locally sourced menu filled with freshly prepared entries and appetizers; vegan and gluten free options as well as fare for the enthusiastic carnivore, with an assortment of desserts; hand-dipped Windy Knoll and Sweet Treats ice cream and Snowy Mountain Sugary pastries. We’ve spent decades traveling, camping, climbing and cooking in some of the most popular restaurants in the United States, and now we bring all of those experiences to the table, offering healthy, delicious food for any budget and desserts for the most decadent palate. Have been late getting my review on here.
My wife and I moved to Franklin 3 years ago and it was known as Mo Fatz at that time known mainly for ice cream.
Due to lack of help they did close for a while.
We finally heard they had
reopened as Orange Cat Cafe. We visited as soon as possible.
What a pleasant surprise to be greeted by Cindy and Mike, the new proprietors.
We were immediately impressed by them and their friendliness.
Since them we have returned many times.
Their menu is extensive and has something for everyone.
As soon as I ate the panini I was trapped.
For anyone who has had a true Cuban sandwich this is the closest you will find.
The roast pork is sensational.
My wife loves the various salads that are a mountain of delicious items.
If you are truly hungry- especially at breakfast- the wildcat burrito will impress and fill.
Always have room for the ICE CREAM.You will understand when you see the men. Black Raspberry, Peach and Peanut Butter are just 3 that will catch your attention.
Cindy and Mike really do make you feel at home and look forward to your next visit.
In fact writing this review has made us ready for another memorable meal at the Orange Cat.
PS: WHOA! How could I forget the French fries. Fresh, hot and incredible.

Every time I’ve eaten at Moe Fatz Orange Cat Cafe, the food and service have been great. Everything is homemade and fresh (hand cut French fries are fantastic!). I’ve seen the owners in stores, so I know they buy locally. Aaaaand the ice cream cannot be beat!!

Great place to visit with unique decor, friendly owners and fresh, awesome food! 10/10 recommend! My wife had the chicken, bacon wrap with fries, she said it was delicious with plenty of chicken and bacon. I had the burger and fries and it was cooked exactly how I like it…the wife had a chocolate chip cookie and I had an ice cream cone for dessert, a perfect ending to a great meal

The ice cream here is wonderful. I got the peanut butter delight and was blown away with how good it was. My wife got the vanilla and it is very good.
The people working the register were very kind and knew a lot of the history of Franklin. I really enjoyed my time here. I highly recommend this place.

A shame this local business doesn’t follow service animal laws. I figure the appearance and intriguing atmosphere makes up for the quality of food and quality of some of their attitudes
We did not get as far as even ordering anything at this establishment. My assumption of poor quality of food is based on the hostility towards a service animal before we even entered the establishment. Then the hostility that continued when we attempted to order.
It’s clear they have these type of interactions on a regular basis! Since they can’t seem to keep up with whose reviews are whose.
I happily spent my money and enjoyed my meal at Korner Shope Cafe!!
