We were driving through and looking for a quicker dinner than sit down but healthier than fast food, and decided to give this a try. We were both very happy with our orders! We got two different platters, both delicious and well portioned, at a good price point! The mild sauce was very flavorful, and the white sauce was delicious without any heat. The fries were hot and fresh. My only disappointment was that the semi recent photo of the menu showed baklava, but it’s not on the menu now. But dinner was delicious! I’ve included a new photo of the menu- the smaller platters don’t include fries. I highly recommend Downtown Platters!

I ordered the lamb and rice platter, and it was absolutely delicious! The lamb was perfectly seasoned and tender, with just the right amount of spice. The rice was flavorful and cooked perfectly—soft and fragrant without being greasy. The white sauce tied everything together beautifully, and the portion size was generous enough to be satisfying without feeling too heavy. You can really taste the freshness in every bite. I’ll definitely be coming back for this again!

I have tried a couple of the halal platter places. They all have the same thing but the flavor isn’t there like this place.
Best rice I have had in a while. Most flavorful rice. The salad had seasoned veggies chopped on it with a refreshing mint addition. Then the fries are those perfect fries that you always like to get at a really good burger place. I tried chicken and it was great. Should have got extra sauce to dip fries in.
Overall out of five of the places I have tried in town this is by far the best flavor. The portion is perfect where you are filled but not overfilled.
Can’t wait to try fish the fish and the wraps and the burgers. Surprised there isn’t a fish sandwich.

We always spend a lot of money to some fancy restaurants around Albany. And found this gem! After that, we become their member every week. We love their ‘Lamb platter’; ‘Fried fish platter’; ‘Smash burger’. Their food is incredible & the price is just so reasonable!!! Their service is a top-notch, too!!!

Heard about the smash burgers from this place from my work buddies and I finally got the chance to try it. They said it’s the “ Best smash burger in Albany”. And I couldn’t agree more! They smash the patties to perfection with grilled onion and they keep it very simple. You can taste the delicious beef. Will definitely come back

The juicy beef patty, melty cheese, caramelised onions, lettuce and crunchy pickles sprinkled in a delightful sauce, and held together lovingly in perfectly toasted buns. This burger had put all others to shame!
You just know that a burger is special when a car full of guys falls silent, as they bite and cherish each morsel of this burger.
