Although private, this establishment does allow people to access Irving Creek and the Red Cedar River behind the building. There is ample parking, and it’s common courtesy to thank them by patronizing the bar and restaurant before or after paddling.

Good music on a great afternoon at Grandpa Joe’s Trailside in Irvington. Very pleasant “backyard ” at the bar, and a nice selection of beer on tap (and bottles and cans, and others).

We stopped there on a Wednesday afternoon when they say the kitchen is open and wanted to try their food, but their cook was on vacation. The young lady working the bar was not very friendly, but she did an ok job of serving us. The location is quaint, unique, and in an awesome location near the river/creek. There were a few locals there that certainly took precedence over us. We spend a lot of time exploring local bars and know the good places to stop. This place, unfortunately, misses the mark.

Love my whole experience in this part of the state and this just added to it. Very hometown down to earth customers and staff alike. They have excellent local customers who are extremely friendly. And they get people from Mars Irvington campground.

Dive. Don’t use the bathroom. Don’t know any runners or most people on the trail who go there. Yes, beautiful setting. Go to drink beer or play pool, no food here

Friendly atmosphere, good bartenders, good drinks, fun place to go hang out, play pool, listen to music, sit on the patio, it is just by the Red Cedar trail and the ATV trails so people stop frequently to get hydrated
