Finally! A Chinese restaurant that will accommodate gluten free needs! I found out about this restaurant from a gluten-free Los Angeles Facebook group. We ordered chicken chow fun, shrimp fried rice, orange chicken and the black bean sole. Everything was delicious!!! The staff members were also friendly and helpful. This is my new favorite Chinese restaurant!

I rarely write reviews, but I want to highlight the incredible job that this restaurant did for us recently. In late January, I coordinated a group dinner for ~35 people at this restaurant. From the very first phone call, I was impressed with the level of service and detail that I observed. Every person I spoke to was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, even as I asked endless questions about which food options were gluten free, how many appetizers and entrees we should order in advance, what are the best vegetarian dishes, etc. They advised me to order our dishes ahead of time so that we wouldn’t wait too long, which was a thoughtful and true suggestion. The restaurant accommodated multiple challenging changes I asked them for, including increasing the number people on the reservation and even moving part of the group to an outdoor table (by request of the guests). So for service, I think they earned five stars.

I thought the restaurant itself was beautiful both inside and out. Many people who arrived early for the dinner enjoyed some time at the bar before making their way to the tables set aside for us. The patio outside fit around 30 people, and we had tables distributed both inside and out. The patio also had standing warmers to keep guests comfortable. So in terms of the atmosphere, I award them five stars.

The food itself was delicious. The guests all loved what I had ordered in advance, and they especially loved that they were able to simply order drinks and wait for the food to arrive. I think it set a new standard in how we will order food in the future! The family style layout allowed everyone to try a bit of everything and sample the many delicious options the restaurant offered. We ended up having fewer people come to dinner than we planned for, so we had food left over. We left nothing on the table; everyone who could took food to go. I ate my leftovers for lunch the next day and they were just as good. And considering how much we ordered (including drinks), that we all spent <$50 on such a great meal felt fully justified. I award five stars here for food too, easily.

While everyone on staff at New Moon is fantastic, I’d like to especially thank managers Scott and Will and our server, Andrew, for handling our large group, our many requests, and the constant changes. We will be back to this restaurant in the future!

We came here with family and friends for my dad’s birthday and it was superb. Our waiter was very kind and answered all of our questions/provided recommendations. We ordered various dishes from the Kung Pao chicken and beef and mushroom trio to the Cantonese steamed fish and walnut shrimp. Everything was served family style so all of our guests were able to try each dish and the food was absolutely delicious. We also ordered a a tester platter that allowed us to taste all the appetizers.

The food was well seasoned and very flavorful. The restaurant has a modern ambiance with outdoor patio seating and a bar area on the side. Overall, a great experience, exceptional service and accommodation and tasty food. This was our first time here but everyone in our party was delighted at the quality. We definitely recommend it

Great food and amazing service. Came here with some friends a couple days ago. Beef, chicken and shrimp were some of my favorite items. Good when paired with the chili sauce and brown rice. We had really good servers that were quite attentive and always on top of refills, which was nice. Indoor dining was nice and clean. There was an indoor private event going on and was not too noisy to disturb the other patrons dining, which was very considerate.

We had Halloween dinner here – our first time visiting – and WOW! What a gem! Service was great – everyone was super friendly and attentive (and in costume) throughout our visit.

The food. Lord. Talk about FANTASTIC! It’s obviously Westernized, of course, but it’s immediately become our favorite “Chinese food” place. Done and done!

My girlfriend and I LOVE the deep-fried spring roll wrapping with plum sauce for dipping that’s served as soon as you sit down – it’s the Chinese restaurant answer to chips and salsa at Mexican spots! BRAVO! Delicious and deep-fried goodness!

We shared Chicken Pot Stickers, which were beautifully moist and well-seasoned (dipped them in the plum sauce as well); Honey Glazed Chicken with Orange Zest, which was brilliant – sweet, savory, and ugh – SO good; and Fried Rice with shrimp, which was also great – the shrimp were plump, fresh, nicely cooked and plentiful! For some reason, I can’t post the photo of the Honey Glazed Chicken – weird.

We washed it all down with hot oolong tea, and finished it off with the fancy fortune cookies they bring with the check!

There was too much food for the two of us; we could have done without the pot stickers – but we just wanted to try everything, so we over-ordered. And we just barely scratched the surface here – so much more we need to come back and try!

The ambience is modern, and clean. There is a bar attached to the restaurant, which is interesting and cool. Parking might be challenging as the surface lots attached to the property are super small with only a few spaces. Street parking looks to be somewhat challenging, too. That said, we rolled in at 5pm on a busy Halloween afternoon and had no problem parking in the lot just outside the front doors of the restaurant.

This isn’t a cheap meal, by any means. You can get “Chinese food” elsewhere for much less. However, the quality of the experience – staff, those incredible deep-fried dipping wraps/skins, and the perfection of the food are all worth it. We cannot wait to return, as this was deemed our “go-to” Chinese place now!

New Moon was AWESOME! This was our first time here… it was a suggestion of our Aunty that we met up with. Her and her brother’s family had been coming here for years, and we totally see why. The food is AMAZING, and Jeremiah is super cool! His dessert suggestions were spot on. We definitely plan on bringing our family here in the future.

This place is a little hidden gem in Montrose. My wife and I were in the area and looking for some dinner and we found New Moon. We loved the chicken, it was so flavor and crispy and the veggie fried rice was delicious without being too salty and the vegetables were so vibrant and fresh! The chicken potstickers were the only thing we didn’t love but definitely don’t miss out on the shrimp rangoons! Service was excellent and everyone was so friendly. We definitely wanna go back when we’re in the area again.

This place is a nice lunch/dinner place. The sitting is not bad. It is a big open space with tables. No cloums in the middle. The outside is nice too but it could get a little noisy. The food is good. Not as good as banda in but it is higher than average quality. They are so what fast. Make sure to order chips as it doesn’t come by default. It is completely free. It comes with a sweet sauce. The tea is good. You don’t have to make couple of orders for the tea. You can just ask for more cups. The staff is very nice. They will help you out. They are very respectful and helpful. They don’t have a spinning table so you might get tight on place when you are a big group. Don’t come here alone. Come with a group of people. Always order in family style so you can try more than one plate. They have alot of options. So enjoy and try everything with your group.

It’s been such a long time since I’ve eaten at a proper sit-down Westernized Chinese restaurant. It has that certain look and feel that makes me all nostalgic. But putting aside the ambience, all the food here is LEGIT!! All the dishes have that homey, comforting taste, plus the wontons that come out at the beginning are so light and crispy, I could just eat that all day.
