Stopped in for lunch today at Tradewinds. We started with drinks, chips and guacamole. Kristin provided quality service and was professional and kind. My wife had the grilled chicken sandwich and I had the tuna melt. The ambiance, food and service were very good.
Highly recommended.

We stumbled across this place while we adventured out to try and find a new place to grab a coffee in the morning. We sat at the bar and ordered two cups of black coffee; we were pleasantly surprised when they brought us out our own coffee carafe. They do have specialty coffee, but we were very happy with the plain coffee and creamer.

After looking around, we noticed the bar was very well set up for specialty drinks, particularly a very nice setup for old fashioneds, and couldn’t help ourselves. I’ve got to say we have traveled around a lot and evaluate a bar based on if the bartender knows how to make a nice old fashioned without over complicating it. This place is most definitely in my top 5 for old fashioneds I’ve had in the USA. They started off with smoking fresh rosemary in the whiskey glass; used their house whiskey, which amazingly is a very nice 4 roses bourbon, and completed it with a well balanced amount of bitters, orange peel, and the good dark cherries. The light smoke from the rosemary paired phenomenally well with the four roses. If you’re into a well-made old fashioned I highly recommend checking out the craftsmanship of this bartender.

So, of course, after a solid first experience, we decided to try breakfast. We ordered the Chilaquiles pork Chile Verde, and oh man. We had ordered the chilaquiles from Hollywood Cafe a few days prior, and this place knocked them out of the water. The plate came out quickly, and the chips were still crunchy. The pinto beans are extremely well seasoned, and the eggs cooked to perfection and the verde sauce expertly done. Their house made salsa and the correct amount of heat and exploded with flavor. I did not get pictures of our meal because quite frankly we were enjoying our experience to much to waste it with phones. 10/10, we will be back tomorrow.

So give this place a try the service and friendly staff alone will not disappoint. Pair it with the food and atmosphere and you have an amazing combination. This is a new gem and deserves the opportunity to thrive in this beautiful location.

EDIT: day 2 of breakfast.
This time we brought the father in law

He had the Machaca and eggs. Great depth of flavor and well rounded breakfast. He says it’s the best machaca he’s had in a long time

My fiance had the hot habanero Mexican omlette. This thing is awesome. Nice spice but I wouldn’t call it spicey. Amazing depth of flavor in an omlette and man do they know how to pack filling into an omlette. Highly recommend.

I had the berry crepes. Things things
were so nice and light with perfectly crisped edges. Very well done as they were sweet but not to sweet. A well balanced crepe.

The service and experience was just as good the second day as the first.

I got a lot of love for Tradewinds Cafe, a new and conveniently located addition to the neighborhood. They’ve got a lot of options on their menu, serving up American and traditional Mexican cuisine. I’ve been here for brunch twice and drinks once, and have enjoyed the friendly service and well-prepared food each time; my favorite dishes so far are the Chile Verde Omelet and the Patty Melt.

Tradewinds is my wife’s and my new favorite local spot, and we’re looking forward to our next brunch and finally trying it out for dinner.

The new neighborhood restaurant has a locals feel with a wide menu selection!

We went during Happy Hour on a Friday and I was pleasantly surprised with how full the restaurant was. The staff was friendly and attentive. Food came out quickly and was hot.

We tried the Happy Hour avocado wrap. It was not for me. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, my husband ordered the chili Verde burrito. Both were yummy!

The menu has a lot to offer and I can’t wait to try other things! The price point is a good value for the portion size and the amazing harbor views.

This little known, newer place didn’t pop up when we made our itinerary on Chat GPT but happened upon it on accident, AND I’m glad we did!!! Right on the marina with a view of boats. The food was delicious! We shared the Primavera Scramble, Caprese Eggs Benedict, and a Mexican Pancake (thin with caramel and whipcream). Our serve Humberto was jolly, funny, attentive, and kind! The rest of the staff was lovely as well. Highly recommend!!!

Came back again 4 months later and the food and service did not disappoint (asked for Humberto again).

I was traveling up coast highway past Malibu and decided to find a place to have a drink before I return home to Orange County and decided to try the Tradewinds Cafe. What a stroke of luck. The atmosphere was amazing, I love being on the water near beautiful yachts and homes, and was very surprised to find such a perfect fit. Happy hour prices were amazing for such a nice place. We had Civeche and chips for $11. It’s a little out of the way, but worth it. Highly recommend this little Cafe Bar.

Food was absolutely delicious! Our server Humberto was amazing from beginning to end. Started off with their mezcal pinapple margarita, it was the perfect amount of spicy and sweet♡ We ordered the tacos de papa and the nachos. Im vegeterian and when we asked about the refried beans being cooked in lard, Humberto offered black beans instead and it was the perfect switch! Would definitely be back again!!

Went for brunch. Would like more mimosa flavor options. Waiter was very friendly and the food was decent. My friend said add savory crepes to the menu. I would recommend this place.
