What a nice addition to the street. We have needed a comfortable Mexican restaurant on Solano forever. We stopped in for happy hour and we were very happy with drinks and snacks. I usually expect happy hour tacos to suck but the carnitas tacos were overstuffed and tasty. All together we had tacos, chips and salsa, and queso dip. Along with a couple of beers we got out the door for under $25

First, the place looked nice going in, and the wait staff are nice. Second, the chips and salsa were good. That’s where the good stuff ends. I was with my wife, son, and two grandkids. We all ordered different items on the menu. I’m almost 60 years old, and I love Mexican food. I’ve been eating at Mexican food restaurants all of my life all over the country, and I have to say this was the worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. It had no taste to it, and the food was just outright bad. Everyone in my party agreed, and we won’t be going back here again. I can’t imagine this place will stay in business very long. My only suggestion to the business is find new chefs who know how to prepare Mexican food. Yikes, it was bad!

Delicious food, spicy salsa, and great drinks. So happy we tried this place!

The chips and guacamole were delicious. I ordered the the enchilada and taco combination, and really enjoyed it. The Cadillac margarita was so so. This time i gavr it 4 stars. I returned 2 weeks after my first review and had a really delicious beef taco and veggie enchilada, and also the strawberry margarita. Everything was spot on, and this time around they deserve 5 stars.

We’ll definitely be going back. They still have to work out a few things, e.g., service, food presentation, ambiance, drinks, BUT surprisingly those kinks didn’t ruin our time there. The good was tasty, and they have complimentary home made tortilla chips and salsa, which were delicious.
The salad we got needed a bit more dressing, so if you’re like me, and you like some salad with your dressing, make sure to ask for extra! The black beans were definitely tastier than the pinto beans, but that may be just my personal preference.

Food was pretty mediocre. I’m confused about why they opened another Mexican restaurant on Solano, especially when they aren’t doing anything differently. La Creme is right down the street which is much better or Talavera is my favorite up Solano. Nevertheless, the place was packed…lots of white people…its just like another Cactus but the food is even less interesting. The service was rough too – they were clearly understaffed. Our waiter was running ragged.

We’ve lived on the block for a few years and were very excited for a new place to try. They are still getting a few things tightened up but the dip trio was fantastic and the house margaritas were delicious! They even threw in an extra margarita as they perfected their recipe-customer service: A+
We’ll definitely be back to try the brunch!

Looked at the reviews and newly opened restaurant have to go there! But will choose cactus/chipotle for burritos!
Location is beautiful! When it’s crowded there no place to stand in there chips and salsa loved it… they are tasty
Have ordered veggie soup didn’t like it no taste at all so blond(rice, veggies mixed in veggie broth – no seasoning), tamales were hard inside and looked little burnt and I thought it’s expensive!
Soft tacos were good my daughter liked it but she said she would go to cactus for that again!I choose to take out and there package is perfect no mess little containers with everything in it’s section.. staff was very friendly! I expect more from Mexican food so wouldn’t go again

A little on the pricey side for Americanized Mexican food but the carnitas burrito made it worthwhile. Chips and salsa were hit and miss: I think they’d be better off making thick tortilla chips in house and liberally salting them instead of using the current tastes like it’s from a bag offering but the salsa was fantastic. For the main course the carnitas burrito was capital A Amazing. Not too greasy, not too fatty, not chewy, not swimming in some kind of sauce: just lightly crispy deliciously tender and flavorful pig. I’m definitely coming back for another.
Table service is a bit weird but they tell you straight up on the menu to flag them down if you want or need something so I’m willing to go with it. I can see the experience being a bit odd if you didn’t get the memo.
