The fried fish meal was definitely worth the price, it tasted great. On the other hand, we felt like the cottage pie was good but not justifiable on the price. The pretzel was decent as well.

For food we got the pretzel and it was really good. Our service was decent. We were outside, but it was pretty prompt considering one of the bartenders was our server. Outside views are great. Nice place to go in warmer weather.

This place was awesome! Have amazing food and great fun loving staff! Drinks are amazing and next level with smoked Old fashioned and Paloma. Old school is this places feel. Great neighborhood joint with great people!

Bought the wienerschnitzel it was very good! My date had the Mac and cheese, she said it was tasty. Enjoyed our evening listening to the polka band! I would say that the patio seems to be the place to sit on a normal summer evening.

Smoked old fashion was cool
The schnitzel is fantastic, as is the broasted chicken.
You also need to try the meatball appetizer.

Looking forward to trying the fish fry

Danny Boy’s Neighborhood Speakeasy is a charming restaurant and pub nestled in a historic mill. Great ambiance and friendly staff. We sampled the “Fat Boy” burger, the the lollipop chicken, the pork belly fries, and the cottage pie, and finished off the night with the waffle tower sundae. Everything was delicious. We’ll be back to try the cocktails very soon.

Good food and great server and bartender (and on a tuesday) plus I could order Redbreast on the rocks. Outstanding.

Very cool old building with a lot of history. Beautiful outdoor patio/dining overlooking Fox River. The pretzel bites were good. My dinner companions all enjoyed their meals – they stuck with burgers/sandwiches. I ordered the weinerschnitzel. They have a placard advertising Schnitzel Sundays so I was expecting some amazing schnitzel. NOPE! It was disgusting. The mystery meat was drowned in a BBQ sauce with canned mushrooms and barely visable spatzel and burnt bits of who knows what. I don’t think the cook/chef knows what schnitzel is. Once again disgusting and so very disappointing. It got loud as it was trivia night and we could no longer hear our conversations . Our server Ethan was awesome, funny and attentive. Another staff member gave us an impromptu tour of the facility. It’s a far drive for me and my meal was so lackluster that I won’t be back.

The Double O burger was awesome! Definitely try their Smoked Old Fashioned or the Smoked Manhattan! I’m a rum drinker and had those as well as the Plantation Dark rum on the rocks with a splash of water. Great drink if you’re a rum connoissuer.

The restaurant/bar is in the lower level of Gray’s Mill. A small space, but it highlights the history of the building with open rafter ceilings. The food was not what we expected but still good. The shrimp guacamole crostini was the best thing we ate. There was live entertainment and the bar tender was even making smoked cocktails.
