If you’re in Key West, you absolutely have to eat at Blue Heaven. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This place isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience. Tucked away in a charming courtyard with colorful decor and even roaming chickens, Blue Heaven captures the true laid-back spirit of Key West. The open-air seating, live music, and tropical vibe make you feel like you’ve discovered a hidden island gem.

The food is unforgettable. Whether you go for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, everything is fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. The lobster Benedict is next-level, the Caribbean-inspired dishes are packed with bold flavor, and the famous Key lime pie? Absolutely legendary — tall, creamy, and perfectly balanced between sweet and tart.

The service is friendly and welcoming, making you feel right at home from the moment you sit down. It’s one of those places where you relax, take your time, and truly enjoy the moment.

If you want authentic Key West charm, amazing food, and an atmosphere you won’t find anywhere else, Blue Heaven is a must. A true five-star island experience you’ll be talking about long after your trip ends. ✨

this place is so beautiful! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous. I love all the chickens and roosters wondering around. There were even a bunch of little baby chicks! Blue Heaven has always been a go to breakfast staple

Fun and moody restaurant with good service but mediocre key lime pie.

After reading rave reviews and taking note that Blue Heaven was listed as having the best key lime pie in Key West I felt this place was a must stop during my trip. After dinner my friends and I stopped in for dessert. Our table ordered key lime pie which has the trademark mile high merengue. We also tried ordering the vegan passion fruit cheesecake but sadly it wasn’t available during service the night we visited. Although impressive to look at, the key lime pie wasn’t enjoyable because the merengue tasted strongly of egg which wasn’t a good experience.

The outdoor dining room, especially at night, is moody and enjoyable given the live music. The outdoor space was serving tropical Louisiana vibes. The service was great. We were seated promptly, ordering was frictionless, and I never felt we were waiting or wanting for something throughout service.

Overall, I’d go to Blue Heaven again due to the good service and enjoyable atmosphere but I can’t endorse the key lime pie. I just wish they would have had the vegan cheesecake to try as it sounded far better than the key lime pie.

We came in excited to find a few seats at the bar with a 30+ minute wait and about 10k positive reviews. Left a little bit disappointed in the service but pleased with the food and the atmosphere.

Starting with the good: Hostess was amazing at juggling a few large groups that needed Snickers bars to curb their ‘tudes. Navigating through the back was great. Much more spacious than you think with interesting nooks and crannies to settle in for some good conversation with friendly wait staff. The food was good, thankfully. Enjoyed the chicken salad sandwich on locally made bread.

Where they missed, is the staff waiting on us. Barely spoke to us, just gave the “I don’t care to be here” vibe that makes it tough to enjoy a place. Fingers crossed that bartender l finds some happiness in her life.

Might stop in for a second chance because everyone has bad days. Also, noticed two stages so I’d love to come back for live music.

My wife and I stopped by this location mid-afternoon yesterday with the specific goal of trying a slice of Key lime pie so we could compare it to several other well-known spots we had already visited throughout Key West.

While the pie itself did not end up ranking at the top of our list compared to other places we tried during our stay, the ambience inside the restaurant was pleasant and thoughtfully designed. The interior has a strong tropical feel that fits the Key West vibe well, with lush plants and close, intimate seating that gives the space a cozy character.

That said, later in the afternoon the space felt somewhat enclosed, and the limited airflow made the environment feel warm and slightly humid. This is not uncommon in tropical settings, but a potential improvement could be increasing airflow with additional fans or slightly reducing the amount of interior foliage to help keep the space cooler and more comfortable during peak heat hours.

One highlight of our visit was the bartender who served us. He was absolutely phenomenal—friendly, engaging, and genuinely welcoming. As it was our first day in Key West, his warmth and hospitality made us feel immediately at home. He took the time to chat with us, was attentive without being overbearing, and truly elevated the experience through his customer service alone.

We also noticed the staff beginning to set up for live music later in the day, which looked like it would add a great energy and atmosphere to the space. Unfortunately, we arrived a bit early and were unable to stay long enough to enjoy the music, but it’s definitely something we would consider returning for.

Overall, while the Key lime pie wasn’t our favorite during our trip, the service and atmosphere—particularly the outstanding bartender—left a positive impression. With a few environmental adjustments, this could be an even more enjoyable spot, especially during the warmer parts of the day.

We had a great breakfast here. Big outdoor space covered with canopy’s. The vibes were perfect. Lots of rooster activity which was fun. We both got rooster special and it was great! We got there around 830am and we got sat right away but it was busy. When we left there was a big line. 930ish. I also think I prefer key lime with out the meringue but it was still good.

We actually ate here twice and lunch was also delicious!

We were very excited to visit Blue Heaven based on the reviews. Place looks very cool. Great waiting areas since it took 2 hours to get in. Food was good but I’m not sure it was worth waiting. 2 hours for. Service was excellent. The team did a great job otherwise I think my overall score may have been different. Unfortunately we missed the pancakes since they didn’t serve them after noon. Which several of our party were looking forward too. Maybe we will try it again to see if the outcome/wait is different. Can you guess which dish I had? Enjoy your visit if you go. It is a good atmosphere

After reading some great reviews, we visited Blue Heaven but were disappointed with not just the food but the overall noise, and the vibe. The place was crowded, with almost an hour wait time. It was also incredibly difficult to find parking.

We ordered their toasts, avocados, potatoes, etc but the toast was the only saving grace.

Fantastic restaurant, the ambiance was fantastic sitting in the courtyard under the lights and trees felt awesome. The Stars of our meal were the red Grouper special, cooked to perfection super moist and flavorfully in a ver Blanc sauce. But a bit pricey at $50. Other star was the key lime pie. Which was the best out of all the ones we have eaten on our trip, it was tangy but not too sweet, the crust was buttery and not too flaky and the tall meringue was fresh and airy. We also really liked the Jamaican jerk chicken, it was juicy and had a decent amount of spice. The one dud of the meal the Cajun shrimp, the sauce was tasty but the shrimp was over cooked. Service was fantastic but our server forgot to tell us about one special that the table next to us was told about ( if he told us we would have ordered it) but all in all fantastic meal and great restaurant.

This is a unique place. I would give the atmosphere a 5, but having grown up on a farm, I know how dirty it is the have roosters and hens running about. The service was excellent and very professional. The food was good, but as breakfast food not exceptional. I did see a review where they claimed the banana bread was a must, I disagree. This is still a nice place to stop and eat.
