Staff were very attentive to our needs. Bar suggested drinks and made with a smile. Waitress always cleared our dishes and offered dessert suggestions. Our food was flavorful but was only warm, not hot as I would expect a steak to come out of the kitchen. The interior was beautifully decorated.

The place itself is beautiful, and it has the potential to be an upscale dining experience — but the service and food completely ruined it.

Our server seemed uninterested from the start, walking away three different times in the middle of taking our order. When I asked for silverware (there was none when my food arrived), she rolled her eyes and then walked over to chat with friends instead of helping. I waited several minutes, thinking maybe she went to get it — she did not.

I tried to order an appetizer, but they were out of all three I picked. Then I tried to order an entrée, and they told me they couldn’t make two of them and were out of the other one. I finally settled on the truffle pasta. The truffle pasta was extremely oily, with a gritty texture that made it unpleasant to eat with an imitation truffle flavor. I also ordered the risotto — it was crunchy and lacked flavor.
They also had a soup and salad bar that was extremely limited and was not being refilled. Unfortunately, I only had a couple bites of everything as most of their food was unedible.
Overall, I left frustrated and still hungry. Definitely won’t be coming back, and I do NOT recommend it to anyone. Beautiful space, but poor service and poorly executed food.

First time trying The Vault and everything was perfect! The autumn crostinis are actually to die for, and should really be made into a permanent menu option I had the duck quesadilla and French onion soup and my husband had the vault burger with loaded fries. I had a Harry Potter butterbeer and a very cherry old fashion to drink. I’m so happy to see Clintonville has a spot with a fun drink menu! We also went during happy hour and got a nice discount off of our bill. Definitely will try again!

A great addition to Clintonville and worth the drive. They have a good variety on the menu that caters to many. The fish fry is good. Great use of an iconic building and nice view of the river with outdoor seating. Prices were reasonable.

We had an enjoyable meal with prompt and personable service at The Vault. They did wonderful work converting a mid-century bank into a restaurant. Hence the name. The old bank vault now houses the restrooms. This eatery has the best atmosphere in town, so we will go again. The architecture is more fully realized as a destination restaurant than as an under utilized bank of late. Now, on the historic register! The views of the Pigeon River below are lovely, too. Bank on it!

Basically two blocks off of the main drag downtown.

I took my mother and sister here on a hot summer’s Saturday around 630pm. We were expecting a wait, but we’re pleasantly surprised at how promptly they procured a table for us. The service was friendly, attentive, and polite. They answered questions with ease and were willing to accommodate special requests. The steak came out at proper temperature, and the haddock was seasoned perfectly, not overpowering the fishes natural flavor. As for the deserts, the portioning was sizable and well worth the value. Overall, this was an enjoyable experience from start to finish. Pricing seems a little low, in my opinion… where else can you get a 24 ounce ribbeye for under $40. We will definitely be coming back.

They have a very large drink menu but the bartenders do not know how to make any of them. The prime rib was gray and cold. The 12oz rib eye was 1/4 inch thick and tough like shoe leather (I ordered medium rare). They somehow also made the farm fresh asparagus taste like canned veggies. The salad bar was decent and the atmosphere was nice. We paid $95 after tip for 2 people (after the 10% discount and free drink after we expressed we didn’t like the food). Would not recommend unless they make some serious changes.

Very good food, managers are very nice. Definitely a one of a kind place! The server does care alot about the job, she does seem quite shy.

They have revamped tge menu about a month ago. I really think this place has some great potential. A piece of honest advice for the owner would be to bring in some people to train the staff and help give some confidence and practice. I think with a little on the staff end this place will truly stand out.

Everything was excellent! Ordered the ribeye, prime, burger, pasta, and tenderloin. The duck quesadilla was awesome. All were winners but the tenderloin was the best. Exceptional service and great atmosphere! The bar is huge and a plus that you can eat at the bar. Deserts were incredible! Get the cookie!

Arrived with a group of 5
4 adults 1 toddler
Was not greeted or anything, stood there for 10 minutes and watched a group of 5 or 6 leave.
I got curious and followed them outside and asked why they decided to leave.
They left because they had reservations at 6pm and nobody talked to them for 20 minutes as they stood there and decided to just walk out.
That made us all nervous as they were busy, which im totally understanding I worked in the food industry all my life.
If its gonna be 30 to 45 minutes before you can seat us just let people know
But about 5 minutes after that we were asked how many and told about 5 more minutes they’ll have a table for us.

Might have been the table meant for the group ahead of us, but regardless we were finally helped

During this time I got 2 whiskey old fashioned sours that primarily tasted of sour mix and the mushrooms for garnish were honestly nasty

So they decided to sit us in this echo chamber back room where I could hear my own inner thoughts, it had the echo of a church I thought about downloading a music app and recording an album.

Kicker is they sat us in this area the table next to an older couple trying to enjoy themselves a date between the 2

Im sure that ruined their night but oh well.

Ok so lets get to the food and service during our dining.

Brought us our water asked if we wanted anything else to drink, wish we received drink menus but we didnt so I just continued to drink my old fashioned

She came back quickly after and asked how we were doing and then asked if we wanted any appetizers

We got the duck quesadilla which honestly was the best thing the whole night had in store for us during our visit.

So she came back out with our duck quesadilla didnt ask about drinks or anything just asked if we were ready to order we all said yes and ordered

2 of the ladies that were with us ordered tenderloin steaks and a potato side, one of us ordered the blackened walleye and I ordered the truffle pasta with salmon

So 1 of the ladies ordered her steak to be rare and received medium rare but closer to the medium side, she also asked for garlic baby reds but got like a honey Yukon gold or something? I tried a bite of her steak and it honestly tasted dry and grainy

The other lady with us ordered medium rare and received a closer to well done steak, but she got her baked potato like she asked so that was good

The truffle pasta was ok, except for the bacon in it tasted almost synthetic and was honestly overbearing, but the sauce was decent and noodles were ok

The blackened walleye though, well that wasn’t blackened.. just cause you dump a bunch of cheap “blackened” seasoning on it doesn’t make it that.
I tried a piece and it wasn’t charred and was the saltiest thing I’ve had in a very long time, oughta be a warning for people with high blood pressure to not order that.

Also the salad bar was a mess and didnt contain anything great, gotta give credit to them putting spinach out there.
I enjoyed that but where’s the liver patte? Where’s the pickled herring? Olives? Pickles?

A busy Saturday night with no hostess is pretty crazy too.

Overall was not impressed and do not plan on returning, wish these folks the best of luck but I feel like they had a golden opportunity and just fumbled the bag, especially with seeing the rest of the reviews.
