Absolutely delicious! Beautiful restaurant with excellent and friendly service.
Homemade bread, fried chicken skins, and pimento cheese to start. Great fry on the the skins!
Venison was perfectly cooked and well-seasoned, as was the risotto beneath.
NC cornmeal cake with winter strawberries was a great take on shortcake.
They pay careful attention to the quality of their ingredients and to the seasoning. Everything was appropriately seasoned and wonderfully flavorful.

No matter what I order I get a great meal here. Whether we are looking for an awesome steak like this Harris ribeye or going casual with a burger it never disappoints. Fresh locally grown ingredients are always on the menu, and I love that they are supporting local Roxboro farmers. They have a great bar with a good wine menu and lots of NC beers on tap. Great seafood options, too (don’t miss catfish when it is on the menu.). We keep coming back week after week and will continue to do so. Don’t miss it if you are visiting Hyco or Mayo lakes or just living in Person or Durham counties.

Always a wonderful experience here, but the last two visits have been extra special. We have been eating a whole foods plant-based diet, and the chef made special dishes for us. Creative and amazing fresh local food!

I can’t say enough about this place. Evolving menu, locally sourced food and beer. Great place to take a date if you want to impress. The only high quality southern style establishment of it’s kind. If you’re local you’ve got to try out out. Prices go from midrange to high, but no matter what you get out be worth every penny.

Our meals were fantastic. Better than most restaurants we’ve tried in the (overrated) Durham food scene. Definitely coming back.

Stopped here one night for a bite to eat, and we were pleasantly surprised! Great food, friendly staff, amazing atmosphere! Plus the owners/chef came out to make sure everything was ok. The Turkey Pot pie was so good, and the Mahi Mahi delicious! We will definitely be back again Heirloom!

My wife and I had a fantastic experience at Heirloom. We called a few hours before our arrival and asked the chef to prepare a vegan meal, and he responded with a locally sourced, well executed preparation worthy of areas considered more “foodie” centric. The wine and drink list, while not overly extensive, is spot on. The pairings are perfect with the level and style of food on the menu.
Was it as fast as pub fare chicken wings- well no. But we wouldn’t drive any distance for that type of food even if we ate meat. We will, however, return to Heirloom as often as possible. This is an opportunity to leave the frenzy of our days behind and sit a spell on our virtual veranda as we allow the goodness of fresh and local food to make us breathe deeper and sigh with utter content as our heart rates slow back to normal.
Don’t dismiss our experience as not relevant to you if you are not vegan, because talent in the kitchen translates across media. Moreover the waitstaff and all other staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and expedient.
Roxboro – embrace and support your world class offering, because you are awfully lucky. I wish our small town thirty minutes away had a similar restaurant, but we don’t.
Thank you for daring to open your restaurant in a small NC town. I hope the local community continues to support your dream.

My girlfriend and I have been here twice now and both experiences have been excellent. Once for dinner and once for Sunday brunch. The restaurant is in a nice location in uptown Roxboro, very clean and has really nice decor. The staff is extremely friendly, personable and accommodating. My girlfriend is vegan and both times the chef made something vegan that was not even on the menu. This last visit the chef personally came out and greeted us and offered to make my girlfriend a coconut crepe dish. I will definitely be coming back here and would recommend this place to anyone looking for excellent food and service in a nice atmosphere.

The food was just OK and certainly not worth the price. The service was very poor and slow. I got the Ham stuffed chicken breast it was bland and way over cooked. The chicken was as dry as card board. My wife got the burger and said it was average. We got waited on promptly then it took 30 minutes to get our appetizers and another hour to get the entree. If there were more than four people seated I would have understood the wait time. I could go on but I do not recommend Heirloom.

First, I rarely give 5 stars. I am giving 5 stars in spite of the fact that I didn’t love every part of my meal. I’m giving 5 stars because I think this place has gotten it right. I had the fried wahoo special with tartar sauce on the side. Their homemade cocktail sauce was simply amazing. I’ve never has anything like it anywhere. The tartar sauce was also very good. I didn’t care for the creamy cucumber salad, which was a shock to me because I like everything in it. Something about the creamy sauce I didn’t care for. The bartender, Walker, was awesome. Service is important and he did a great job. He’s very personable. It’s clear that this management team empowers their employees and that’s also awesome. I will definitely be going back to try other things in the menu.
