Everything on their menu looks incredible! When you see plates coming out you wish you had ordered one of everything.
Every portion we’ve been served has been massive. We got lasagna this weekend… Shared that, with nachos. We took half the lasagna home and that was another full meal for me. The pile of nachos is no joke, a massive mountain of delicious and fresh ingredients!
The Caesar dressing…I was about to lick my plate after I finished my salad. My 2 year old even liked it!
We’ve also enjoyed the bruschetta when it was in season (with homegrown tomatoes )
Each time we’ve come in, Ive had my 2 year old daughter with me. All the staff is kind and interacts with her like the little human she is.
The most recent visit, my MIL actually thought they missed something off the bill because she thought the price was TOO LOW for all the food!
So grateful to have such a gem in the Katahdin region. We severely lack in options but this is worth the travel!
We’ll be back, again and again and again.
Thank you guys! Keep up the incredible atmosphere you provide and keep on serving the best food in Maine!!!
Tucked away along the ATV route in Sherman, Maine the big purple house holds an amazing surprise inside.
Super friendly owners/staff cook up and serve some of the best tasting, clean eating, locally sourced, meals around.
The Italian Sub was made with surprisingly fresh ingredients as were the wraps. The Chicken Bacon Ranch Melt was top notch. Even the Chips are locally sourced!
Sitting in renovated but true to the architecture rooms just like at Grandma’s kitchen table you won’t be disappointed! If you’re into great food that is clean eating it is a must try if you’re in the area.
Also one of the only restaurants open in the whole area on Monday.
Don’t forget to thank the cook and have a little chit chat as she is very friendly and informative.
Service was great. The atmosphere inside the historic home is lovely! It feels like you’re going to your Grandmother’s home for a Sunday dinner and I mean that in the best way possible. If you want delicious homemade food that’s seasoned well this is the place!
To start, the menu is creative, farm to table, locally sourced as much as possible, and contained something that would please everyone in your party.
There is a main menu to look at which is printed and encouraged to be taken home. It changes often and there are mouthwatering specials. We couldn’t help ourselves from ordering appetizers, the pretzel plate and the cheesy garlic bread.
The pretzels were bites that came with a mustard and cheese sauces. Both were delicious.
I had the meatloaf with gravy which was a special. It was meaty, spiced perfectly and delicious. Other ordered meals were steak tips, which I had to try and were prepared perfectly, a ravioli dish, Mac and cheese for one of my kids and a pulled pork dish. Also ordered was a Mexican style pressed crunch wrap. It was one of the top dishes of the night which is hard to say because all the dishes were so delicious. The food was so fresh and prepared exactly as we liked it.
They have great drinks, top notch bourbon selection, decent wine, and hand mixed italian sodas. There are also lemonade, Pepsi products, coffee tea and more!
We almost couldn’t order desserts. We DID order but almost couldn’t cause we were full. They nicely comped one of the desserts for the 60th anniversary couple. We ordered the blueberry, creme brulee cheesecake, the apple pie filled cinnamon bun, peach cobbler topped cheesecake and the fudge brownie sundae with locally made ice cream. All were made in house, and all were exceptional. This is a gem of a restaurant in a most unassuming spot. We traveled an hour from our lake spot to eat at Salted Butter Farm Restaurant and can’t wait to go back!
